Players are on their first 15-minute break of the afternoon.
Moments ago, the tournament staff made an announcement over the loudspeaker that all seats had been filled within the room and alternates will now be waiting for players to bust out in front of them in order to get a seat in play. In total, 224 entries have been recorded with Alternate #17 being the last to have had a stack put in play.
Roman Shainiuk open-limped in the hijack and saw Billy Pappas raise to 800 on the button. The big blind called, as did Shainiuk, and the three went to a flop of 
.
Action checked to Pappas and he made a continuation-bet of 1,700, which was check-raised by the big blind to a minimum value of 3,400. Shainiuk got out of the way and then Pappas thought for about a minute before calling.
The turn came 
and the big blind bet 7,000. Pappas took about 25 seconds and then shoved for 19,000. The big blind confirmed the amount and took about 20 seconds before making the call.

Just one more stop remains in Season 11 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT). From December 18-20, the tour will close out the year with a $1,100 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed Main Event at Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, Iowa, which is actually situated just across the border from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A series of $65 and $250 satellites will feed into the Main Event, which will feature two starting flights. Day 1a will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 18 with Day 1b taking place at the same time on Saturday, December 19. The surviving players from both flights will then return for Day 2 at 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 20 to play down to a winner.
The tournament comes on the heels of August’s record-breaking MSPT Main Event at Grand Falls. That $1,100 buy-in tournament was the first mid-major poker tournament in the United States in nearly six months, and the 518 entrants not only surpassed the venue’s previous best field of 238 runners in 2015 but also became the largest major ($1,000+ buy-in) in Iowa history.
In the end, 47-year-old Mark Collins, a systems administrator from the St. Louis area, came out on top to win a $107,706 top prize and his second MSPT title. He previously won the MSPT Season 9 Canterbury Park for $102,076.

Blake Bohn was inducted into the MSPT Hall of Fame in February, 2020 after recording his 25th Main Event Cash at MSPT Canterbury Park, where he finished in 11th place, just missing out on his 10th career Main Event Final Table.
Bohn boasts over $500,000 in MSPT winnings over $3 million in lifetime earnings, and he looks to add to that total during this weekend's event.
