Mancini Check-Raises the Turn

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Angelo Mancini
Angelo Mancini

Angelo Mancini opened the action with a raise to 2,200 in the hijack and was three-bet to 6,700 by the cutoff. Action folded back to Mancini and he called.

The flop fell {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn came {3-Clubs} and Mancini checked again. His opponent bet 5,500 and Mancini put in a check-raise to 14,000.

Mancini's opponent thought for a few moments and then let his hand go, earning Mancini the pot and taking his stack over 150,000.

"Farmer Phil" Gets a Double

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Phil Mader
Phil Mader

There was a pile of chips already in the middle with multiway action on a flop of {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} where action checked to the player on the button, who bet 5,500. Matt Bond called in the small blind to put action onto "Farmer" Phil Mader in the big blind, who check-shoved for 17,000. The player on the button folded and then Bond called.

Phil Mader: {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Matt Bond: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

Mader's flopped nuts needed an unpaired board on the runout and he got just that as the turn {k-Hearts} and river {5-Clubs} both fell safely to score him the double.

West Connects for the Double

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Preflop action saw around 23,000 in the middle among three players including Ron West in the hijack. All three players checked through the flop {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and the turn came {6-Spades}.

The small blind checked again and the big blind bet 7,000. West announced he was all in, shoving for 34,500, and the small blind folded. The big blind confirmed the amount and thought for about 35 seconds before making the call.

Ron West: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Big Blind: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The big blind saw that West had hit his gutshot straight draw on the turn and he was thus drawing dead. The river came {6-Diamonds} to complete the runout and the double was shipped West's way.
