Brown Gets Value With the Nut Flush

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Stephen Brown
Stephen Brown

Stephen Brown saw action fold to him in the cutoff and opened to 4,000. Nahid Toma three-bet to 8,000 on the button and action folded back to Brown, who called. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Brown checked to Toma, who made a continuation-bet of 19,000. Brown called.

Action checked through the turn {a-Diamonds} and Brown cut out a bet of 40,000 on the river {8-Clubs}. Toma went into the tank, thinking for close to two full minutes before finding a call.

Brown turned over {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the nut flush and the dealer pushed forward the three diamonds on board to confirm. Toma was unable to top it and sent his cards to the muck, earning Brown the pot to bring him near 300,000.

John Sun was also spotted at the table taking the five-seat that was previously occupied by Russell Boyker. Moments later, he was seen earning a double with ace-king and now has 62,000.

Yaginuma Prefers a Double To a Chop

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Jesse Yaginuma
Jesse Yaginuma

The dealer was in the process of finishing a runout with Jesse Yaginuma all in for 31,000 from early position against another player in middle position.

Jesse Yaginuma: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Yaginuma picked up a flush draw on the flop {6-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and while the turn {2-Clubs} did not make his flush draw, he filled up on his freeroll to double as the river {7-Diamonds} completed the runout. Yaginuma was a Day 2 registrant, taking the place of Michael Lin who busted earlier in the day.

Wysotchanski Gets a Triple

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Day 2 entry Wagner Wysotchanski limped under the gun and saw Scott Massimiano raise to 10,000 in middle position. Harold Brendon called in the cutoff and action folded back to Wysotchanski, who limp-jammed for 32,000. Massimiano came over all in over the top and Brenden called; Wysotchanski found himself in about as good of shape as he could have asked for.

Wagner Wysotchanski: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Scott Massimiano: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Harold Brenden: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

"Fair fight," said tablemate Ron West. The flop {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts} all but ended the hand right then and there, and Wysotchanski knew it as he let out a small fist pump. The turn {k-Spades} brought him a small backdoor Broadway sweat, but the river {6-Hearts} came to give him a full house and score him the triple.

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Steve Wilkie
Steve Wilkie

Steve Wilkie was just seen around the tournament room and confirmed he is temporarily out of chips as he waits for one final Day 2 shot.

According to Wilkie, he raised ace-ten and went heads up to a flop of {a-}{7-}{2-}. Bets went in to go to the turn {j-}, where more betting ensued. Wilkie then shoved all in on the river {a-} when he hit trip aces and his opponent called his shove, turning over {a-}{j-} for a full house.

Thirty-Five Alternates Have Been Called

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Plenty of eliminations have occurred in the opening orbits of play on Day 2, as the tournament clock now displays that Alternate 35 has been seated as the tournament reaches the midway point of its first level of play on the day.

An announcement was also just made for Alternates numbered 45 and below to line up, signifying that eliminations are expected to continue at a fairly quick pace. All who are seated will have 30,000, good for a 20-big-blind stack with hour-levels continuing through the day.
