Favreau Sets Up Sladek for KO

Brett Reichard raised to 4,000 from middle position and was called by Dan Favreau called directly to his left along with the cutoff before Todd Sladek squeezed for 31,000 from the small blind.

Only Favreau called and the two players were off to the races.

Sladek liked what he saw until the flop hit the felt giving Favreau a set of eights.

The turn wasn't the worst card for Sladek as it gave him more outs with a gutshot straight draw, but the completed the board on the river and he took his exit for the tournament field.

After the player under the gun raised and Adam Wiatrowski called from the cutoff, the big blind defended bringing about a flop.

Action was checked to the initial raiser who continued for 4,000 and only Wiatrowski called to see the turn.

Wiatrowski's opponent check-folded after he fired out 15,000 and Wiatrowski continues to build after being down to under 12,000.

Adam Wiatrowski Takes Down Winter Poker Classic Event #5: $250 NLH Turbo Super Stack

While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the $1,100 Main Event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about some of the side events that have taken place out over the past week at the Winter Poker Classic.

In Event #5: $250 NLH Turbo Super Stack, 135 entries created a $27,000 prize pool that was paid out to the top 15 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Alan Baker (15th - $459), Jeff Petronack (14th - $459), Leo Fussy (13th - $459), Ryan Arnold (11th - $554), and Nick Anderson (10th - $554).

In the end, it was Adam Wiatrowski who collected every chip in play to capture the WPC trophy, along with first-place $4,335 payday.
