Who Will Make the Money on Day 2 of the MSPT Venetian $1,600 Main Event?

Welcome back for Day 2 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Venetian $1,100 Main Event.

There were three starting flights that pulled together a total of 1,341 entries, which was enough to almost double the $1 million guarantee as a $1,910,975 prize pool was generated.

A total of 166 players found a bag during the last three days and those lucky enough to do so will be returning for Day 2 action today at 11 a.m. local time.

Starting the day with the overall chip lead is Kyrylo Kobzyev who bagged large in Day 1b, while Day 1a chip leader Josh Bobrosky holds the second largest stack and Day 1c chip leader Aaron Massy sits fourth in chips.

Many other familiar faces will be battling it out for a shot at the six-figure top prize which include Rob Wazwaz (474,00), Brock Wilson (394,000), Landon Tice (380,000), Alexander Greenblatt (374,000), Asher Conniff (340,000), Ian Matakis (326,000), Andrew Moreno (309,000), Mike Shanahan (286,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup (251,000), Kristen Deardorff (128,000), Adrian Mateos (116,000) and defending champ Chance Kornuth (55,000).

There will be 166 players returning for Day 2 action and roughly thirty some players will have to drop as only 135 spots will be grabbing a piece of the prize pool. This might make for some conservative play, but judging by the first three flights, the tournament should retain the action-filled play that has been up to this point.

A min-cash will be paying $3,440, but all eyes will be on the $325,428 first-place prize that the eventual champion will be taking home, along with an MSPT title.

Day 2 Schedule

Cards will be in the air at 11 a.m. local time with action picking up from level 16 where blinds are 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 big blind ante. Blinds will remain 40-minutes in length and the plan is to play another 15 full levels.
