Another full day of action has played to its conclusion at the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Venetian $1,600 Main Event. The second of three flights drew 435 total entries bringing the two-day total thus far to 710 entries.

Of those 435 total entries, only players remained when chips went into bags and Kyrylo Kobzyev found himself atop the counts with a whopping 834,000. He was the only player north of 800,000 while Andrew Hedley (614,000), and Kyriakos Papadopoulos (603,00) were the only other players to make it over 600k.

A handful of players eclipsed the 400k mark with Kyle Goodman (516,000), and Jon Gottlieb (489,000) rounds out the top five stacks.

Much like Day 1a, the final level of the night saw an onslaught of casualties with chips flying all across the remaining tables in the final level of play that led to a lot of players riding roller coasters with their stack sizes before becoming official for the evening.

One player that rode the late-night wave was Victor Canaple who flopped a lucky set to end the night just outside the top five (476,00).

Several other well-known players to the poker scene will also be joining the aforementioned five. Alexandre Reard (411,000), Scott Stewart (359,000), Ryan Dodd (305,000), MSPT Battle Creek Champion Mike Shanahan (286,000), and MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup (251,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 34 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

Among those not as lucky at the felt included Kyna England, MSPT Champion [bAngelina Rich[/b], Alex Foxen, along with WSOP bracelet winner's Anthony Spinella, and Joey Weissman, with at least a few if not all of them likely to be seen back in action for the final flight.

Play will resume Wednesday at 11:10 a.m. for Day 1c so keep it here at PokerNews for updates as all the action unfolds.

Ebony Kenney: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Victor Canaple: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Both Kenney and Canaple were trailing their opponent until the {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop hit the felt giving Canaple top set.

The {q-Hearts} came on the turn giving Canaple a sweat as the big blind player added a Broadway draw but the {4-Spades} completed the boar don the river securing his double-up while Kenney was eliminated from the tournament.

The hijack player raised to 9,000 only to call the 33,000 three-bet Luciano Hollanda made from the small blind.

The {3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop saw Hollanda continue for 22,000 and his opponent called bringing the {j-Hearts} turn.

Hollanda continued with his aggression and fired out a 60,000 bet. Hollanda's opponent thought for a few moments then mucked their hand giving Holland the pot.

Dodd Applies the Pressure

Ryan Dodd raised from under the gun and the the big blind player defended, bringing action heads-up to the {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop.

Dodd's opponent check-called his 7,000 continuation bet and then did the same for 19,000 after the {j-Hearts} fell on the turn.

After the {a-Clubs} completed the board on the river, action was checked to Dodd once again and he fired out what looked to be a healthy 63,000 bet.

Dodd's opponent looked at him puzzled and after a few moments, they released their hand giving the pot to Dodd.
