MSPT Season 12 Final Standings - Player of the Year

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Kyna England
Kyna England

Kyna England took down the Season 12 Player of the Year title after winning the MSPT Winter Poker Classic at Canterbury Park in December. She held off a late charge by Taylor Howard in the finale event of the year to become the first female Player of the Year in MSPT history.

Since its inception in 2009, the MSPT has done a great job keeping track of player stats. As a result, they have one of the best player databases in the industry.

On their "Leaderboards" page, the MSPT tracks such things as Career Earnings, Main Event Cashes, Main Event Final Tables, Main Event Titles, Total Cashes, Most Cashes/Final Tables in a Season, Most Final Tables All-Time, and much more.

Here's a look at the final standings in the Season 12 points race.

Evans Gets a Shove Through on Moshe; Takes from Johnson

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Lena Evans
Lena Evans

Lena Evans is making moves up the leaderboard and putting pressure on her opponents.

With 75,000 in the pot and {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} on the board, Evans shoved for 143,000 and Roni Moshe went into the tank.

After a few minutes, Moshe got away from it and awarded Evans the pot.

Moments later, Evans clashed with Rodger Johnson.

Johnson raised to 22,000 from middle position and action folded to Evans for a call from the big blind.

The flop was {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Evans bet 28,000. Johnson called and the turn was {2-Spades}.

Evans check-called on the turn when Rodgers bet 33,000. The river came {5-Diamonds}.

Both players checked the river and Evans turned over {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Johnson flashed {6-Diamonds} and tossed the losing hand in the muck.

Pitesa Felts Salimi; Leaves Morey with Crumbs After Big Three-Way Cooler

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Anthony Pitesa shoved his 292,000 into the middle and Barbod Salimi jammed his short stack from the next seat over. Action folded to Ken Morey in late position, who made the call with both players covered.

Barbod Salimi: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Anthony Pitesa: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Ken Morey: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

"I nearly folded!" Salimi said as he say the disappointing news.

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Pitesa's aces held to secure a giant pot on Day 2. Pitesa is marching up the leaderboard after starting the day with 140,000.
