MSPT Grand Falls $1,100 Main Event

Day 1b Started

Welcome to Day 1b of the MSPT Grand Falls Main Event!

MSPT Grand Falls
MSPT Grand Falls

At the beginning of the much-anticipated new year, the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) kicked-off it's 12th Season and the action continues today with Day 1b of the $1,100 buy-in, $200,000 GTD Main Event at Grand Falls Casino, just outside Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The $1,100 Main Event, which will require players to wear masks, features two starting flights and Friday's Day 1a drew 231 entries.

After the completion Level 15, just 30 players bagged and tagged with Paul Carney and his stack of 531,000 leading the way.

Rounding out the top five big stacks were Dave Sanderson (466,000), Cy Church (372,000), Curtis Vierstraete (360,000), and Phil Mader (325,000).

Others to punch their tickets to Day 2 were MSPT Champion Erv Bjerga (315,000,000), Raymond Rife (288,000), John Cap (280,000), Kevin Berthelsen (273,000) and Chad Bjorkman(259,000).

Of course, not everyone was fortunate enough to make it through the night. Among those to fire and fall in Friday’s flight were MSPT Hall of Famer's Kou Vang and Jason Seitz, along with MSPT Champion's Rob Wazwaz, Keith Heine, and Josh Meyer. There's a good chance we see most of them give it another go today in the second flight.

When the action begins, players will start with 25,000 in chips and levels will be 40 minutes in length with 10-minute breaks coming after every three levels. All players are allowed a max of 1 re-entry per starting flight and registration will remain open until the end of Level 12.

Action is set to play through 15 levels unless 12 percent of the field is reached in which play will stop and players will bag and tag for the night
