Collins Wins a Coin Flip

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

All of the chips had gotten into the middle between Janelle Rettig in the hijack and Mark Collins, who was in the cutoff and at risk for his last 8,800.

Mark Collins: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Janelle Rettig: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The flop {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts} put Collins out in front, where he cruised to the dub as {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} completed the runout.

Steve Mahne

Middle position raised it up to 1,200 and was called by the cutoff before Steve Mahne called on the button as well. The small blind also came along and all four players checked to {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

The original opener bet 1,200 and only Mahne called, taking action heads up to the river {2-Hearts} where both players checked to showdown.

Mahne tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for kings up and his opponent mucked.

"I guess it's good," said Mahne of his holdings as the pot was shipped his way

Dominguez Rips It In

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

"Four players," announced the dealer as she spread a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} with 4,900 already in the middle. Checks from the big blind and middle position put action onto the hijack, who bet 2,100 and saw a call from Edmon Dominguez in the cutoff. The big blind then folded and the hijack called.

Action went three ways to the turn {2-Clubs} and two checks followed. Dominguez then put his last 7,900 into the middle, with both players taking around 15 seconds a piece before finding folds.

Velentzas Jams the Turn

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Nick Velentzas

There was an under-the-gun raise to 800 that drew five calls behind, two of which were by Steve Wilkie in middle position and Nick Velentzas in the cutoff.

The original raiser continuation-bet 2,500 on {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, thinning the herd so that only Velentzas remained. The turn came {9-Clubs} and a second barrel of 6,000 was fired.

"All in," responded Velentzas, committing his stack of 12,300. His opponent thought for over a minute before announcing a fold and sending her cards to the muck.

"Nice fold," Velentzas said. "I'll show you," he added and tossed {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} onto the felt face-up for everyone to see.

Blindert Flops a Set

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action was heads up on a board of {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} with 2,500 in the middle. Luke Blindert fired out 1,700 from under the gun and the player on the button called.

The river was {8-Spades} and Blindert bet another 2,500. His opponent thought for about 10 seconds and then threw in three T1,000-chips while verbalizing a call.

Blindert turned over {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for the flopped set.

"Nice hand," his opponent said as he sent his hand to the muck.

Wilkie Takes the Multi-Way Pot

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Half of the table went to a flop of {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Clubs} with 3,800 in the middle from preflop action. Everybody checked to the {6-Spades}, where Steve Wilkie bet 1,500 in early position and was called only by the player two to his left.

Wilkie fired another 2,500 on the river {7-Clubs} and his opponent balked before looking back at his cards and remarking that he was folding an ace. He then completed his action, sending his cards to the center of the table to earn Wilkie the pot with no showdown.

The British Coloradan is no stranger to MSPT success with over $233,000 in tour earnings and a lifetime resume that is nearing $500K. Among the successes was first-place finish at MSPT Golden Gates in 2019 for $85,149, which was followed up by a fourth-place finish at MSPT Canterbury Park just a month later for $51,944. Two months after that, he then finished in second at MSPT Grand Falls for $66,177. Wilkie also finished in fifth place at the 2018 MSPT Golden Gates $360 Regional for $17,511.
