Grimes Blasts the River

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Three players saw a {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop for what looked like a min-raise. Action checked to the cutoff, who bet just 3,000. Both Jeff Grimes in the big blind and the player under the gun called. On the {8-Hearts} turn, the cutoff bet 5,000 and they all went to a {j-Clubs} river.

This time, Grimes led out pretty big with 20,000, and that induced and insta-fold and then a slightly slower fold.

Federspiel Doesn't Need a King

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Keith Heine opened for 6,000 under the gun and was called a couple of seats over before Steve Federspiel shipped in the last 19,500 in the small blind. Heine folded but the other player called.

Federspiel: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

"I had a king," Heine said as the dealer fired out {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

"That's not good," Federspiel said, moving to exit.

The river was the {q-Clubs} though, keeping him in the game.

Holloway Has a Pulse

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Chad Holloway moved in blind under the gun for 7,500. A player in the cutoff called and the others folded.

"You're in good shape," the caller said, tossing {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} into the middle.

Holloway was pleased to see he had overcards with {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. The {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Hearts} board was all Holloway and he's back to having a pulse after being down to just 1,000 moments ago.
