Welcome to Day 1a of the $1,100 Mid-States Poker Tour Main Event at Venetian Las Vegas. Cards go in the air at 11:10 a.m. for the first of two starting flights in this two-day event.

The $250,000 guarantee kicks off a full week of MSPT action at the Venetian, with a $1,600 Main Event to follow on Thursday, November 3 that guarantees $750,000. Today's surviving players will return on Thursday at 11 a.m. for the Day 2 finale.

The tour is coming off of a stop in Riverside, Iowa that drew 749 entries for a prize pool of $726,530 Lee Rzentkowski took home the top prize of $145,006. MSPT last visited Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend, and PokerGO commentator Jeff Platt outlasted 470 entries on his run to a $100,804 victory.

Players will start with 25,000 chips and play 40-minute levels. Registration remains open until approximately 5:55 p.m. local time and players can reenter as many times as they wish during either of the opening flights.
