Hack Gets a Shove Through for a Big Pot

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Mike Hack
Mike Hack

Action was heads up with over 15,000 in the pot and {4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} on the board when Mike Hack bet 7,000 from the small blind and his opponent called from late position.

The river was {6-Spades} and Hack shoved the rest of his stack. His opponent folded quickly and Hack dragged the big pot without a showdown.

Elsewhere at the table, MSPT regular Mike Lang has taken his seat. Lang is building on a big year with several final table finishes in high-roller tournaments around Las Vegas, most recently a run to eighth place at the Wynn Fall Classic.

Patterson Applies Pressure, Kornuth Chipping Up

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Tyler Patterson raised from under the gun to 700 and Chance Kornuth called from late position before the blinds came along. The flop was {2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. Patterson continued for 1,000 and that was enough to fold out three opponents and take the pot.

A few hands later, action was heads up with 3,000 in the pot and a full board of {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Patterson bet 2,000 and his opponent check-folded to give him another pot.

Meanwhile, Kornuth has picked up a pile of chips and he now sits just short of 60,000.

McCauley Felts One

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action was three ways with a full board of {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} with an all-in player on the button. Michael McCauley bet 1,600 into the side pot from the big blind and an opponent in middle position called.

McCauley turned over {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} to take the pot with three kings and the all-in player showed {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} before he gathered his things and made his way out of the tournament area. The middle position player mucked his losing hand.

Hack Takes an Early Pot; Kornuth in the Mix

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Mike Hack raised to 300 and a player in the cutoff called before the big blind came along. The flop was {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. The big blind checked and Hack continued for 500. The cutoff called and the big blind tossed in chips to see {j-Diamonds} on the turn. The big blind checked once again and Hack bet another 1,500. Both players folded and Hack picked up the early pot.

One hand later, a player opened from under the gun and Chance Kornuth made it 1,000. Action folded around and Kornuth's opponent called to see {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades} on the flop. The under-the-gun player check-called a bet of 700 from Kornuth and the turn was {j-Diamonds}. His opponent checked again and then gave up the pot when Kornuth bet 2,500.
