Day 1c Chip Leader Kyrylo Kobzyev

The third of four Day 1’s has come to an end here at the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour $1,100 (1.5M GTD) Main Event. After generating a total of 776 entries, just 107 remained after 15 levels of play, which brings the total number of players moving onto Day 2 to 216 thus far.

Today's entries bring the total amount of entries for the tournament (Days 1a through 1c) to 1,557 — which is already enough to cover the $1.5 million guarantee.

Standing tall by the day’s end was Kyrylo Kobzyev of Ohio, who came out on top with 523,000 in chips. Just barely behind him is Jeremy Koehler, who ended the night with 522,000.

Notables who also managed to survive into Day 2 include Michael Newman (202,500), Aaron Massey (196,000), Eric Baldwin, and Shannon Shorr, who made an impressive charge after registering late to accumulate 281,000.

Many big names fell short today, including WSOP Main Event champions Joe Cada and Ryan Riess. Others to get knocked out were Joseph Cheong, Jesse Sylvia, JJ Liu, Kathy Liebert, Lee Markholt, and Matt Affleck. They will all be given a last chance to bag should they decide to play on Day 1d tomorrow.

Stay tuned to PokerNews as we bring you action from the fourth and final Day 1 of the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour $1,100 (1.5M GTD) Main Event, which will begin tomorrow at 11:10 a.m. local time.
