Both players checked on the turn, but Wilkie led out for 1,600 when the completed the board. HIs opponent deliberated, but eventually called. Wilkie tabled and his opponent showed , which was good for the pot.
Wilkie, who took down an MSPT event in 2019, is still in good shape with 30,000 and will be looking to make a deep run in today's event.
A player first to act raised to 600 and was called by three players, including Ryan Laplante in the cutoff.
The flop came and action checked to Laplante, who bet 2,100. Everyone folded but the initial raiser, who called.
Both players checked on the turn and Laplante's opponent checked again on the river, prompting a 1,500 bet from Laplante. The under-the-gun player eventually folded after some thought and Laplante scooped the pot.
