Lobato Takes Tournament Chip Lead

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

A player in early position opened the action to 5,000 and Danny Lobato made it 15,000 to go. It was folded back to the original raiser who made the call.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Lobato's opponent led out for 20,000. A quick call was made by Lobato.

The river was the {8-Spades} and Lobato's foe instantly moved all in. "Need a count," said Labato quietly and the dealer proceeded to break down the various stacks of his opponent. The amount was for 53,800 and after a few moments of consideration, Labato quietly said "call" and turned over {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. It was a good call as his opponent held {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} for a busted flush draw with two overs that never got there.

"Helluva call," said a player at Labato's table as he became the first player out of all four starting flights to hit the 300,000 chip mark.
