Late Double for Awerbuch

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Chad Awerbuch jammed the button for the last 29,600 and Hussein Chamas raised out of the small blind to isolate.

Chad Awerbuch: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Hussein Chamas: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board gave Awerbuch a full house and he doubled, while Chamas took another hit to his stack. He is no longer the chip leader of Day 1b nor his current table, as Cezary Klimczak has taken over that role.

Khal Fayad was spotted on his way out of the tournament area and he had last been spotted with a healthy stack of around 100,000.

A quick look at his former table saw Murray Chick drag in a lot of yellow T-5,000 chips and Bassam Habib explained what had happened. According to Habib, Chick had raised to 6,000 and a short stack jammed for 28,000. Fayad called the jam and tank-called the reshove of Chick after a long tank.

The short stack had nines, Fayad pocket eights and Chick remained supreme with pocket kings on a queen-high board.

Patrick Laoyont: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The flop came {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for Laoyont to hit two pair immediately.

The turn was the {4-Spades} which didn't change things and neither did the {5-Clubs} on the river as Starchak was sent away from the feature table after only a few hands.

Awerbuch Loses One

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Chad Awerbuch bet the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop out of the small blind for 4,800 and his opponent from under the gun called. Awerbuch also bet the {9-Spades} turn for 8,900 to pick up a quick call and the {2-Diamonds} river was checked.

Awerbuch sheepishly turned over {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for queens and deuces, which ended up second-best to {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.
