Dvoress Doubles Through Greenwood

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Luc Greenwood - Daniel Dvoress
Luc Greenwood - Daniel Dvoress

An all-Canadian battle produced a massive pot during the final moments of the second level.

With about 75,000 in the middle and a board reading {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, Daniel Dvoress bet 60,000 out of the small blind, and Luc Greenwood called on the button.

The {2-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Dvoress took a moment before moving all-in. Greenwood snap-called and Dvoress showed him the bad news.

Dvoress tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for a turned set of kings and Greenwood smiled flashing a flopped set of jacks.

Seidel Sends Chidwick to the Rail

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

It didn't take long for Erik Seidel to get into the action and get his whole stack in the middle.

From late position, Seidel bet 60,000 on the turn of a {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Spades} board. Stephen Chidwick called in the cutoff bringing the {10-Clubs} on the river.

Seidel slid his stack forward, moving all-in and Chidwick snap-called.

Seidel tabled {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} making a straight on the river and Chidwick turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}, having his aces cracked by the legend.

Fortunately, for Chidwick, this is a re-entry event so he has time to cool off before firing again.

The man sitting in second place on the all-time money list has just arrived at the Main Event. American pro Erik Seidel has US $33,105,082 in career live-recorded tournament earnings, just over US $1,000,000 behind Canadian poker legend Daniel Negreanu.

Seidel has the opportunity to claim the number one spot if he is able to make a deep run over the next three days. Stay tuned.

Badziakouski Doubles Through Haxton

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

With just minutes left in the opening level here on Day 1, there has already been a double up.

It is unclear how many bets before Isaac Haxton's mid-position preflop raise to 13,300 but Mikita Badziakouski called on the button. The flop was {3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Haxton bet 20,000. Badziakouski raised to 55,000 and Haxton called.

The {2-Clubs} hit the turn and Haxton checked. Badziakouski took several minutes before moving all-in for 163,600. Haxton went into the tank and eventually came out with a call.

Badziakouski: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Haxton: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Haxton was drawing to a chop and unfortunately, for him, the {7-Diamonds} on the river sent the vast majority of his chips across the table.
