Sammartino Back In

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The second bullet of Phil Ivey, who sits next to Paul Phua, appears to be much better than the first attempt, and Ivey has almost doubled up his stack.

Dario Sammartino also jumped back in, and the Italian was immediately greeted by Benjamin Wu with plenty of aggression. Sammartino in under the gun and Wu in the big blind headed to the river of a board {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Wu bet 55,000 into a pot of around 70,000. Sammartino gave his opponent a staredown, but ultimately decided to fold.

Another quick strategy talk with fellow Italian Mustapha Kanit followed before Sammartino returned to his seat after the blinds passed through him.

Salter Finds his Master in Buddiga

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Jack Salter
Jack Salter

Down to his last 61,500, Jack Salter moved all in from the hijack and Pratyush Buddiga called on the button, while the rest of the table folded.

Jack Salter: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}
Pratyush Buddiga: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

"I am feeling good about this one, come on spades," Salter said and the flop fell {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}. "There they are, now a snowman on the turn," the Brit continued. A {J-Diamonds} came on the turn instead, and now a queen would help as well to keep Salter in with just one bullet. However, the {3-Hearts} river blanked.

Salter walked over to Buddiga and joked while pointing to Buddiga's stack: "Every single of my chips is there, I am coming back for them on the final table."

"Nice Hand Man"

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After a raise by Rainer Kempe in the hijack and a three-bet by Daniel Colman on the button, Kempe called and the duo saw a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Kempe checked. Both players should know each other pretty well from last night still, when Colman won the 6-Max Event and Kempe finished third, and Colman continued for 20,000.

Kempe called and the duo then checked the {5-Diamonds} turn and {4-Diamonds} river. The four card straight and flush on the board slowed down the action and both players checked again. Kempe showed {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a straight and Colman sighed, said "nice hand man," and mucked his cards.

Buddiga Continues to Dominate

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Pratyush Buddiga raised from early position and picked up two callers in Koray Aldemir and Jack Salter in the big blind. On the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} flop the trio checked and the {4-Clubs} followed on the turn. Salter checked, as did Buddiga. Aldemir made it 12,500 to go and Salter check-raised to 41,000.

That picked up a call by Buddiga, while Aldemir quickly got out of the way. On the {J-Hearts} river, Salter, who was enjoying a deep massage, elected to check and Buddiga moved all in. That forced a fold from the Brit, who dropped down to 23 big blinds as a result.

One hand later, Buddiga raised to 6,500 and Devan Tang called in the big blind before check-folding a flop of {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} to a bet worth 7,000 by Buddiga.

Below are the current counts of the entire table three.

Phua Busts Sammartino in Big Pot

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Paul Phua raised to 7,000 and Timofey Kuznetsov three-bet to 20,000 from two seats over. The action reached Dario Sammartino and he four-bet to 53,000 in the big blind. Phua gave it some consideration and called, Kuznetsov quickly got out of the way.

On the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop, Sammartino continued for 35,000 and Phua made it 90,000 to go, which Sammartino called. The Italian then checked the {4-Spades} turn with around 130,000 behind and Phua moved all in. After talking through the hand for a minute, Sammartino sighed and called only to find himself drawing dead.

Dario Sammartino: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Paul Phua: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

The {4-Hearts} river even gave Phua a full house and Sammartino walked over to Mustapha Kanit to explain what happened.

Kenney Busts Yu; Juanda Folds to Chan's Shove

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

At the same time, two players moved all in on different tables and one of them would get looked up while the other got away with it.

Bryn Kenney raised to 7,000 and called the shove of Yu on the button for around 55,000.

Winfred Yu: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Bryn Kenney: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

After a board of {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{A-Spades}, Yu's sweat with the flush draw failed to get there and he has been eliminated.

Over on table one, Peter Chan raised to 7,000 and John Juanda called in the big blind. Juanda had previously knocked out Phil Ivey and checked the flop of {K-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Chan continued for 10,000 and Juanda check-raised to 20,000 before facing the shove of Chan for 95,000 in total.

After studying the board and his opponent for two minutes, Juanda opted to fold.

Sammartino Sends Yong to the Rail

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Richard Yong
Richard Yong

Richard Yong's stack had plummeted to around 120,000 when he started the hand with a raise to 6,500 from early position. The entire table folded around to Dario Sammartino in the big blind and the Italian three-bet to 16,500. Yong called and the flop came {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Sammartino continued for 16,000 and Yong moved all in for around 10,000, which was met by a quick call of Sammartino.

Yong had {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush draw, while Sammartino was ahead with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Both the turn and river were insignificant and Yong was eliminated for now, watching the ongoing action from the rail after.

Phil Ivey was eliminated at the same time and took the re-entry immediately, he got the exact seat that formerly belonged Yong.

Buddiga and Yong Battle

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Wai Kin Yong
Wai Kin Yong

Jack Salter had lost a lot of chips against Pratyush Buddiga and the latter took on dominating chip leader Wai Kin Yong in yet another big pot before paying off the defending champion soon after.

Salter opened to 6,500 and Buddiga called in the hijack. Yong three-bet to 24,500 in the big blind and found Buddiga as sole caller. On the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} flop, Yong continued for 18,000 and Buddiga looked him up before the {4-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Now Yong checked and called a bet of 65,000 by Buddiga before checking the {9-Diamonds} river.

Buddiga made it 125,000 to go with around 220,000 behind and Yong folded.

The revenge would follow soon after. Yong bet the river of a board {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs} for 40,000 and Buddiga called only to get shown {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a full house by Yong.
