Entering the $100,000 buy-in Main Event, Punnat Punsri had some impressive results on his resume. According to Hendon Mob, he'd cashed for over $1.6 million lifetime, but was still seeking a career-defining victory. He achieved that goal in Cyprus with a $2.6 million score.
Punsri, who hails from Thailand, beat out 99 entrants, a large field for a six-figure buy-in tournament, en route to his first major poker tournament title. He defeated Wayne Heung heads-up to finish it off. The runner-up from Hong Kong received $1,825,000, quadrupling his career Hendon Mob results.
