Wise Shocked and Out

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Frederick Wise had a run of three hands that saw him go from robusto to busto. Sitting on a stack of just over 25,000 he called a shove from Robert Buky who tabled {q-Clubs}{k-Hearts} against Wise’s {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. It was a cruel flop through and the cards ran out {10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}. the straight taking a big chunk and doubling Buky up. The next hand saw Wise in the small blind and when it was folded to him he shoved in an attempt to pick up the blinds and antes. Peter Barrable was short but decided to get stubborn and called with {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Wise had been at it with {10-Hearts}{2-Spades} and the cards did not favour him, {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} they fell and doubled up Barrable leaving Wise with only 5,375 and the button next hand.

An under the gun raise to 1,600 from Morgan Kan saw it folded to Wise who shoved. Kan shrugged and made the call with {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} as he surely had to, and was crushing the {J-Spades}{q-Spades} of Wise. A final board of {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} felted a shell-shocked Wise who rose from the table and staggered away before his brain even had a chance to process what had just happened over the last five minutes.

John Eames
John Eames

A flop of {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} was checked to Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo who bet 1,700. John Eames called in the small blind and James Johnston folded in the big blind.

Eames checked the {K-Hearts} turn and de Melo decided to just check back.

The river was the {9-Spades} and Eames led out for 6,600 - de Melo tanked for a couple of minutes but found the call with {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}, Eames' bluff with {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} having failed.

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

On a {6-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop it was checked to Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree who bet 2,200 and Fraser Macintyre was the only caller from the button.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Boeree opted to check, Macintyre now bet 3,200 and Boeree made the call this time.

Both players checked the {Q-Clubs} river, Macintyre showed {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} but Boeree had him bested with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

Pizza Time

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

There is no dinner break today but it’s 7pm here and having started at noon some players are obviously feeling the hunger pangs. Martin’s Adeniya was seen rushing back clutching a takeaway pizza just as the level restarted, but Isle of Man resident Adam Kelly obviously has the right numbers in his phone and had ordered a pizza to be delivered. It didn’t quite make it to his table as security wouldn’t let the delivery man through, but Kelly intercepted it in reception and brought it back to his table. He generously offered to share it but warned the table “You’re not betting anymore chips though.”
