Jake Cody Eliminated

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Jake Cody
Jake Cody

As we arrived on Jake Cody's table, he was already involved in a big hand. Andrew Wool had 700 in front of him and Jake Cody had raised to 2,200 out of position from the big blind on a flop of {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Wool called in position and the {Q-Spades} fell on the turn. Cody checked, and called the 4,000 bet Wool made. The {7-Hearts} on the river saw both players check and Cody showed {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Wool mucked.

Cody was right back at it the next hand. Jeanne David opened the cutoff for 700 and the player on the button called. Jake cody over called from the small blind, the big blind folded.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Cody checked. David made a continuation bet of 1,600 and the button folded. Cody called and checked agin on the {2-Clubs} turn. David fired another 2,500 into the middle. Cody tanked for just a bit and then moved in for 19,125. David was now the one thinking about it, and called.

Jake Cody: {10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Jeanne David: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The river {K-Clubs} spoiled Cody's double up party and he made his exit. He's still able to buy back in for another hour, so we expect him back soon.

Severyn Takes on Dacey

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

PokerStars employee and all-round good guy, Rick Dacey opened the betting with a raise to 500 from under the gun and after two players folded, was called by Christopher Dolan, the player to Dolan's left and Michael Severyn, the latter being in the big blind.

On the {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{K-Hearts} flop, Severyn checked, Dacey bet 1,350 and only Severyn called. Both players tapped the table and checked the arrival of the {7-Hearts} on the turn, leading the dealer to place the {J-Diamonds} on the river. Severyn put a 2,700 bet out and Dacey sent his card back to the dealer.

Quads for Gavin

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Fintan Gavin told us about a hand he lost early on. He told us the hand with a big smile and his neighbor, the player apparently involved, just sat there smiling.

According to Gavin he lost a pot with aces where he called a pre flop five bet in position and called his neighbor down. His neighbor had {J-}{10-} and had flopped top pair, only to river two pair and beat out Gavin's aces. Gavin was still left with more than enough chips, and won some back not much later.

In that hand Sunil Moti bet out 400 from the big blind on a flop of {5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. One player folded and Gavin called from the hijack.

The turn came the {J-Spades} and Moti bet 525. Gavin asked how much it was, and called.

The river {A-Hearts} had Moti bet out another 700.

"Seven hundred?" Gavin asked, "It's almost getting cheaper!"

Gavin then raised to 2,100 and Moti quickly released, showing the {7-Diamonds}.

"I have too many fives" Gavin said with a big smile, showing {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} in the proces. "Why didn't you have the sevens?"

Svendsen Wins an Early Pot

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Katja Svendsen
Katja Svendsen

Timothy Dearing opened to 350 from middle position and received a call from the Isle of Man native, Jamie McMurdo, to his direct left. To McMurdo's left was Katja Spillum Svendsen and she squeezed to 1,200 and only Dearing called.

A flop reading {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs} was checked by Dearing and bet to the tune of 2,000 by Svendsen. A few seconds later, Dearing released his hand and Svendsen, who finished third in the UKIPT Marbella Main Event in 2014, gets off the mark here in the Isle of Man.

Cheers!

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a flop of {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} the player under the gun checked. Lewis Joyce bet out 500 and Rick Dacey folded from the cutoff. Local player Michael Booth raised it up to 1,000 and and the player under the gun folded. Booth called.

The {J-Hearts} fell on the turn and Joyce bet out again, this time for 1,000. Booth called.

The river came the {10-Spades} and Joyce moved in for effectively about 17,000. Booth tanked for a bit and called with {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. Joyce showed {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and collected the chips.

"Cheers!" Booth said. "Sorry" Joyce said in a remorseful voice.
