Martin Stuart Eliminated in 15th Place (£1,800)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Stuart
Martin Stuart

Martin Stuart was doing everything in his power to improve his short stacked position, mostly by moving all-in preflop.

The first time he did this, his 85,000 all-in bet went uncalled and he showed his table mate {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

When he tried it again a few hands later, his 105,000 shove went uncalled, but his third shove, for 133,000 over the top of a 26,000 under the gun raise from Craig Sewell, Stuart was called by Rodger Reynolds. Sewell folded and left the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} of Reynolds go head-to-head with the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} of Stuart.

The {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop kept Stuart in front, but the {J-Spades} turn left him needing one of the three remaining queens. The {K-Hearts} was one pip away from one of those and he became the 15th place finisher.

Scott Byron Eliminated in 16th Place (£1,595)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Byron opened to 30,000 under the gun and his next door neighbor Daniel Stacey three bet to 75,000. Action quickly folded back around to Byron who four bet to 150,000. Stacey five bet to 325,000 and Byron moved all in, though we're not sure he even had more than the 325,000 Stacey asked of him. Stacey wasn't afraid to put some extra chips in just to make clear he wasn't folding.

Scott Byron: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Daniel Stacey: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The board never brought any excitement or hope for Byron: {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Byron hit the rail. Stacey is the new chip leader if we're not mistaking.

Robert Campbell eliminated in 17th place (£1,595)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

Robert Campbell was just eliminated in 17th place, and non other than the already leading Paren Arzoomanian was the one responsible.

Campbell made it 25,000 from the hijack and Arzoomanian three-bet to 75,000 from the button. Campbell called and open shoved for 330,000 on {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{A-Spades} and Arzoomanian called with the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Campbell had just the {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} to show, and failed for improve on the {3-Hearts} turn and {8-Clubs} river.

With that the tournament was down to its final 16 players, and a redraw was done.

Egisto Gone

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

PokerStars employee Pasquale Egisto's quest to win the UKIPT Isle of Man Main Event has ended after he ran into Dan Stacey in one of the larger pots of the tournament.

Stacey opened to 22,000 from the cutoff and Elliott Hayes called from the small blind. Egisto the squeezed to 87,000 from the big blind, prompting Stacey to make it 142,000 to continue. Hayes soon folded but after much deliberation, Egisto pushed all-in and Stacey called without much thinking.

Egisto turned over {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and his face looked resigned to defeat when he saw the {K-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Stacey.

"I though maybe you had ace-king," said Egisto.

The sevens never looked like catching up at any point of the {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts} board and Egisto exited the tournament area in 18th place.

Lappin Busts After Running Into Kings

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
David Lappin
David Lappin

David Lappin's roller coaster ride since returning from the dinner break is over, and so is his tournament.

Craig Sewell opened from the button and then instantly called when David Lappin reraised all-in. Lappin turned over {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Sewell {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Lappin paired his queen on the turn, but it turned out to be too little too late as the five community cards fell {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Hearts} sending Lappin to the rail in 19th place.

No Chip and a Chair Comeback Story

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
David Hill
David Hill

David Hill opened to 26,000 from early position and his neighbor James Walsh three-bet. Hill called and check called a 40,000 bet on {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

The turn came the {a-Diamonds} and Hill moved all in for 137,000. Walsh just about snap called.

"Diamond one time?" Hill said as he saw his {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} needed to improve against Walsh's {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The river {7-Hearts} was the wrong red card and he was left with just a couple of big blinds.

"A chip and a chair" he said, but it wasn't meant to be as the next hand would be his last. Hill shoved all in blind under the gun for his last 24,000 and Chris Swinden on the button was the one calling. Despite shoving blind, he had picked up quite a decent hand:

David Hill: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Chris Swinden: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board came {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades} making Swinden a flush on the turn and David Hill was eliminated.

Campbell Can't Bluff Smith

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We caught the action on a board of {8-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Spades} and Robert Campbell in the big blind asked how much Nick Smith in the hijack was playing behind. Smith answered he had about 190,000 left, and soon faced a bet of 200,000.

Smith tanked for a fair bit, and at one point admitted he had an ace. He thought about it for just a bit more after that statement, and finally said "Ok, I call"

The dealer forced both players to show their hands, and Campbell soon enough admitted not to have much of anything. Campbell showed the {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Smith tabled {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Christopher Knights Lays Down His Flopped Straight

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Daniel Stacey opened under the gun for 22,000 and got called in the small blind by Christopher Swinden and big blind by Christopher Knights.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Swinden lead out for a hefty 80,000. Knights almost instantly flat called, Stacey folded.

The {6-Clubs} fell on the turn and now Swinden bet 95,000. Knights leaned back in his chair, and folded his {8-Clubs}{7-Spades} face up after about just ten seconds of thinking.

Swinden showed the {6-Spades}...
