Armstrong Starts First; Finishes Last

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

Julien Sitbon was all-in for 54,000 and Ian Armstrong was involved in the cutoff with the covering stack. Mike Moore then also got it in from the big blind for 41,000 more and Armstrong called to create a three-way all-in.

Julien Sitbon: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Mike Moore: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Ian Armstrong: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Armstrong had the best of it heading into the showdown but somehow ended up last as the board ran out {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Sitbon spiked a one outer for the triple up while Moore doubled through Armstrong to leave the latter short.

Panteli Doubles Taylor

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Only around half an hour remains to be played and the Day 1b field has been culled down to the last 68 players. Kenan Taylor is still among them after he won a flip against Mike Panteli.

The chips went in preflop with the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for Taylor and the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for Panteli. On a board of {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Spades}, the kicker played and Taylor doubled to remain in contention.

Chip and a Chair for Vetsch

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Jason Lee moved all-in for just 27,000 from an early position and the action folded all the way to Joel Vetsch in the big blind. With slightly more chips at his disposal, Vetsch pondered about the decision for some 20 seconds and then called.

Jason Lee: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Joel Vetsch: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The pocket pair remained ahead on the {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop but the {a-Spades} turn propelled Lee into the lead. Nothing changed anymore on the {4-Hearts} river and Vetsch was left with a few chips and a chair.

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a battle of the blinds, short stack Michael Ramiro shipped it in and was instantly called by Vishal Maini from one seat over.

Ramiro was trailing with {k-Hearts}{4-Spades} versus {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. The two live cards got there on the {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts} board and both stacks were nearly even when all was done and dusted.

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a battle of short stacks, the small blind got it in with the {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Mingdo Bu looked him up with the {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. The {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board delivered the flush on the turn and reduced the field by one.

Saade Knocks Out Tal in Larger Pot

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Eddie Saade
Eddie Saade

Eddie Saade raised to 5,000 and Roni Tal then three-bet to 20,000 for Saade to call. On the {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Tal checked and Saade bet 40,000, sending his opponent into the tank. While he was suspecting a possible flush, Tal talked through potential hands for several minutes and eventually shipped it in for 65,000 to get snapped off.

Roni Tal: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Eddie Saade: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The {6-Clubs} turn left Tal drawing dead and the {a-Spades} river became a formality.

Petrov Loses Flip to Kumar

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Petar Plamenov Petrov
Petar Plamenov Petrov

Down to the last 26,500 chips, Petar Plamenov Petrov got his short stack in from late position. Gaurav Kumar in the big blind mulled over his decision for a while and made the call.

Petar Plamenov Petrov: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Gaurav Kumar: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}

The {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop left Petrov on very thin ice but he picked up some miracle outs on the {8-Clubs} turn. However, the escape never happened as the {3-Hearts} river kept Kumar's set in the lead.

Dimsa Doubles Through Pinto

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Four ways to the {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, Lukas Dimsa, Henrik Hecklen and Ricardo Pinto invested 8,000 each. The {7-Hearts} fell on the turn and Dimsa got it in for the last 46,000. Hecklen opted to fold in a heart beat, while Pinto asked for a count and reluctantly called.

Lukas Dimsa: {k-Spades}{3-Spades}
Ricardo Pinto: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {2-Spades} on the river confirmed the double for Dimsa as he pulled ahead of Pinto on the leaderboard.
