The Registration for the £1,100 Main Event Is Closed

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With level 11 now underway in the turbo flight 1c, the registration for the £1,100 Main Event is officially closed. Day 1a attracted a field of 191 entries followed by 297 entries on Day 1b and the turbo heat 1c has 68 players out of 156 entries remaining. This has created an unofficial field of 645 entries and the official numbers will be confirmed later tonight.

Teprikova Felted by Kazakos

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a completed board of {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Simona Teprikova jammed for approximately 35,000 and Nikolaos Kazakos instantly called on the button with the covering stack. Teprikova flopped over the {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for the flopped broadway straight but Kazakos had spiked running cards to a flush with the {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Docherty on the Run

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
David Docherty
David Docherty

Karim Jomeen looked up the short stack shove by David Docherty for the last 28,000 and had the slightly superior stack.

Docherty was at risk with the {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and dominated by Jomeen's {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

"I have three minutes to get into the turbo flight," Docherty joked. As he witnessed the board ran out {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, Docherty jumped out of his seat and right to the registration desk to have a last minute chance at running up a stack in Day 1c.

Arthur No More in Contention

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Karen Arthur
Karen Arthur

Antoine Labat chipped up throughout the last few levels and added even more chips to his growing stack when {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} was good enough on the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board. The seat next to him no longer features Karen Arthur, who was eliminated a while ago.

According to Labat, Arthur jammed for 33,000 in the cutoff with {j-}{9-} and ended up second-best to the {a-}{k-} of Ahamed Mohamed in the small blind.

Sitbon Bounces Back and Busts White

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Oliver White open-shoved for the last 23,000 and was isolated by Julien Sitbon on the button.

Oliver White: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Julien Sitbon: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The flip went to the Frenchman on the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board and White vanished shortly after arriving at the table.

Some Counts and Bustouts

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Hall Busts Argelazi

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Tom Hall
Tom Hall

During the break, Tom Hall and Eliran Argelazi had been discussing some strategy and Hall mentioned that it wasn't necessary to take so many risks because the field appeared to be quite soft.

Sure enough both clashed after the break when the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of Argelazi flopped a gutshot and nut flush draw on {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Hall's {a-Spades}{k-Spades} represented the top pair and top kicker, two blanks later Argelazi was gone.

Maini Takes One Off White

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Vishal Maini raised to 3,000 and Oliver White defended the big blind. As they headed to the {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, both players opted to check. It was then White who bet the {9-Clubs} turn for 4,000 and Maini called. On the {6-Diamonds} river, White checked and Maini bet 6,500 to force a snap-fold from his opponent.
