Registration for Day 1b Closed

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

With a total of 297 entries, Day 1b was the biggest flight so far and all players running out of chips now can no longer re-enter. The registration for Day 1c is still open with level nine underway at blinds of 600-1,200 and a big blind ante of 1,200. Out of 115 entries, some 75 players remain as the final stages of the registration period are nearing.

Da-Silva Doubles Through Wilson

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Andy Wilson raised it up and Chris Da-Silva then three-bet shipped his short stack of 24,500 out of the small blind for Wilson to call.

Chris Da-Silva: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Andy Wilson: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The dominated pair had no more equity after the {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Spades} turn, which made the {j-Clubs} river a formality.

Final Break on Day 1b

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Upon completion of level ten, the 298-entry strong field was culled down to just 103 contenders and they have been sent into a scheduled 15-minute break. During that time, the T-100 chips will be raced off as they are no longer needed for the remainder of the tournament.

Sitbon Doubles; Loses it Back to Nastos Megas

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Julien Sitbon got the last 26,300 in after the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} turn and had the best of it with the {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for two pair. Angelos Nastos Megas only tabled the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and the {10-Hearts} river changed nothing anymore.

Soon after the double up, Sitbon forked over a decent portion of the profit when he held the second pair on an ace-ten high board as Nastos Megas had the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the top pair.

Plante Out Once More

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The cards were already rushed away as Santiago Plante left the tournament area. His chips were pushed to Oliver Price, who had dealt the final blow with the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Plante was one of several notables to bust out as of lately and the tournament info shows 129 players out of 297 entries still in contention.

McNaught No More

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A new deck was demanded while the current hand was still ongoing. Eugenio Peralta had raised and then called the three-bet shove by Connor McNaught for 25,500.

Connor McNaught: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Eugenio Peralta: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The pocket pair remained ahead on the {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Spades} board and that spelled the end for McNaught.

"We don't need a new deck anymore," Eddie Saade joked.

Short Stack Double for Boatman

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Arthur Boatman, not to be confused with the British brothers Barny and Ross, jammed a short stack in with the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Kin Luu looked him up with the {a-Hearts}{8-Spades} and the live cards struck on the {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} runout.

Trotter Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Paul Trotter was moved tabled and arrived a stack well above the average. That one grow even bigger when he took on Eliran Argelazi and pushed the {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts} river out of the hijack. It was for an effective 70,000 as that's what Argelazi had left behind on the button. A brief tank followed and Argelazi then folded.

Trotter double-checked both his cards to which Argelazi demanded "show the bluff" but was only shown one card, the {j-Diamonds}.
