Alon's Exit Sets Up the Money Bubble

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ido Alon
Ido Alon

Min Ji called a three-bet shove for 43,000 and got there with the {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to knock out a short stack holding the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} board gave Ji the superior pair and the field was down to the final 97 players.

Soon after, a larger battle of the blinds brought the 145,000 of Ido Alon into the middle and he was covered as well as dominated by Alexander Zeligman.

Ido Alon: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Alexander Zeligman: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop brought no equity for the PokerStars staff member and the {k-Spades} turn left him drawing dead, which made the {a-Hearts} river a formality.

Miller's Stack Melted by Lalor

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Gary Miller raised the button and then snap-called all-in when Joseph Lalor jammed out of the big blind.

Gary Miller: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Joseph Lalor: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The dominated pair found no help on the {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Spades} board and Miller was gone just shy of the money bubble.

Martin and Nguyen Felted Before the Money

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Brandon Nguyen
Brandon Nguyen

Chipped down to 12,500 only, Benjamin Martin got it in preflop and Atanas Pavlov tanked for more than a minute in the big blind before making the call.

Benjamin Martin: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Atanas Pavlov: {6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board spelled the end for Martin.

Shortly after, Brandon Nguyen jammed the last 13,500 and Masoud Etemadiherisi reshoved in the blinds.

Brandon Nguyen: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Masoud Etemadiherisi: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The {k-Hearts} appeared in the window to promise some hope but that was all crushed on the {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} that followed. It was all over on the {3-Hearts} turn and the {a-Spades} river even gave Etemadiherisi quads.

Boothby Eliminated by Jennings

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Roland Boothby
Roland Boothby

Down to around 50,000 in chips, Roland Boothby got it in before the flop and was looked up by Alex Jennings with the far superior stack to set up the following all-in showdown.

Roland Boothby: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Alex Jennings: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop gave Jennings the top two pair while Boothby needed running cards or a jack to stay in contention. Nothing changed on the {4-Clubs} turn and the four outer never came on the {7-Diamonds} river. Boothby missed out on the cash and won't enter his name in the Hendon Mob database when the final results are submitted.

Enriquez Also Comes Up Short of the Money

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Steve Enriquez
Steve Enriquez

The next PokerStars ambassador to get the chips in preflop was Steve Enriquez and he had the best of it with the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Table neighbour Alberto Speranzoni tabled the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and got there on the {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} runout.

With just over 100 players remaining, the money bubble is already looming in the second level of the day.

The Bustout of Bastow at a Glance

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Min Ji
Min Ji

"If he has 15k more it is a tough call, I guess," the remark at the remark came from Jen-Yue Chiang. What had unfolded just prior was the button shove of table short stack Frank Bastow and Min Ji called from the big blind.

Frank Bastow: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Min Ji: {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop improved Ji and he retained the lead throughout the {8-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river.

Talbot Eliminated Before the Money

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

After losing a big portion of his stack previously, Parker Talbot defended the big blind against an under-the-gun raise by Alexios Zervos. He then jammed the {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop for very few blinds and Zervos called.

Parker Talbot: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Alexios Zervos: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The {j-Spades} turn improved Zervos and the {9-Clubs} river sealed Talbot's fate. "When you run bad, you run bad," another player at the table remarked.

Rann Leads the Way; Archer Busts to Plante

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

James Rann is the current chip leader while the seat next to him is empty. It belonged to Danny Pyke, who endured a roller coaster ride on Day 1a and showed up a few minutes late for the restart.

Rann just dragged in another pot when he bet the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop for 6,000 and Neal Bethune sent his cards into the muck.

Shortly after, Matthew Archer was at risk before the flop with the {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Santiago Plante had the covering stack with the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}. The {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop vaulted Archer into the lead but the {j-Clubs} turn left him drawing dead to make the {4-Hearts} river a formality.
