Joyce Scoops the Last of Iqbal's Stack

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Philip Joyce
Philip Joyce

Philip Joyce in the small blind had a towering stack and had Majid Iqbal at risk from the big blind, who had around 300,000 in his stack.

Majid Iqbal: A3 All in
Philip Joyce: KJ

Iqbal didn't seem too confident and didn't react much as the dealer put out a flop of 76K, which paired Joyce. A Q on the turn was no help, and Joyce improved to trips on the K river, which sent Iqbal to the rail.

Johnson Gets a Fortunate Runout

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Mitchell Johnson raised to 60,000 from the small blind and Thomas Harbrecht-Parker three-bet to 200,000 from the big blind. Johnson then ripped it in the middle for 580,000, and Harbrecht-Parker quickly called.

Mitchell Johnson: 99 All in
Thomas Harbrecht-Parker: 1010

Johnson's future in the Main Event looked bleak and even his suits were covered by his opponent. The flop of QJK gave Harbrecht-Parker an open-ended straight draw and Johnson an inside straight draw, though two of his outs were gone.

Things took a drastic twist on the 10 turn as Johnson found a two-outer to make a straight, the same card that gave Harbrecht-Parker a set. A board-pairing river would change the outcome of the hand, but instead the 6 rolled off, earning Johnson an unlikely double-up.

Dunyushin Survives With the Dead Man's Hand

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

In a blind-on-blind encounter, Sergey Dunyushin was all-in and at risk from the big blind for his stack of around 100,000 against Paul McAulay.

Sergey Dunyushin: A8 All in
Paul McAulay: AK

Dunyushin had the dead man's hand and it seemed that it would kill off his tournament, but the runout of 467A5 gave him a straight, which ensured his survival.

Bingham Rewarded for Brave Call

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

On a board of 3JJ5, there were around 120,000 chips in the pot when Sebastian Crane fired 45,000 on the turn, and Thomas Bingham made it 115,000. Crane then snapped back with an all-in shove, and Bingham thought it over for a while before he committed his stack of 325,000.

Thomas Bingham: 1010 All in
Sebastian Crane: A4

An ace or a four is what Crane needed to snatch the pot away from Bingham, but he couldn't find it as the K fell on the river.

Big call from Bingham!
