Gertjan Kars opened to 1,600 and the player from one seat over called, Bart Lybaert defended his big blind with the 
. On the flop 
all three players checked and Lybaert then check-raised the turn from 2,000 to 6,200. Only Kars called and the 
river completed a possible flush.
Lybaert shoved for 15,000 effectively to put Kars at risk and his opponent called with pocket jacks to double up.
The elimination of Auke Attema was just shown on the feature table. The Dutchman had gotten his short stack in with the 
and found himself drawing to two outs only. Tomas Martinsson held the 
and picked up an additional straight draw after the flop 
also.
Neither the 
turn nor the 
river changed anything and that was it for Attema while Martinsson moved into the top five overall.
According to Jochum Weenink, Alex Hendriks opened to 1,700 from the hijack and Patrick Aerts called in the big blind to see a flop of 
. Aerts check-raised from 2,000 to 6,300 and then called the shove of Hendriks for 21,000 with 
for the flopped queen-high flush.
Hendriks held the 
for a higher flush draw, but both turn and river blanked.
Matthias de Meulder lost more than half his stack in the previous level in a four-bet pot with

when both him and his opponent found an open-ended straight draw. The opponent's additional flush draw came immediately and de Meulder plummeted to half his stack.
And then, Wim Neys, who had arrived not long ago in the seat next to Niels de Wijs, made a correct hero call and took some chips off the Dutchman to almost close the gap in chips.
Auke Attema, Romain Grange and Thomas Sandvik were eliminated towards the end of the previous level to reduce the field to 96 participants on Day 1a. Jasper Wetemans would have almost been next on the list of casualties, but David Baltus limped the small blind and then folded to the shove of the Dutchman for less than 10 big blinds.

, the action was chedked to David Kahan and he bet to get Daniel Ulvrell out of the pot. Manuel Zapf however check-called and the duo saw the 
on the turn. Again Zapf checked and Kahan bet 5,000. This time the Austrian tossed his cards into the muck and Bert Geens asked Kahan to show a four.
The Belgian didn't do him the favor and slid his cards to the dealer before whispering "only a jack."
On the four-way flop of 
, the action was checked to Sebastian Moertelmans and he bet 2,500. Artem Lobus called on the button and Bart Lybaert as well as Stefan Mattsson both folded. On the 
turn, Moertelmans then fired 5,000 for half of his remaining stack and that got Lobus to fold eventually.
Mattsson and Lybaert are the two most notable players on their table and also possess the biggest stacks, too.
On the heads-up flop of 
, Vincentius van Oosterhout and Markus Heikkila got into a raising war with almost the same stack sizes and Heikkila was the player at risk with for top pair, top kicker and the nut flush draw.
Van Oosterhout had flopped top two pair with and held up thanks to the

Alex Hendriks has doubled up his short stack and then was involved in a three-way hand on the 
turn. Jonne Poyry checked in the big blind and Tomasz Kozub bet 3,000 into a pot of 4,500, which got Hendriks to fold. Poyry called and both then checked the on the river.
