Action Restarts

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Less than four minutes remain and the breaks will get cut out from the live stream, thus the delay will become smaller as we go. Chip leader Karl Stark has staggering 133 big blinds and more than three times the stack of the currently second-placed Julien Sitbon.

Hand #66 on the feature table for today was #1 for the official final table and Sitbon took down the blinds and antes with a raise to 80,000, holding the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

David Abbas Eliminated in 10th Place (€6,050)

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
David Abbas
David Abbas

Loic Francois opened the action with a raise and chip leader Karl Stark three-bet to 245,000 from one seat over. Short stack David Abbas announced all in for 425,000 out of the small blind and Francois re-squeezed to 745,000. Now Stark moved all in to put both his opponents at risk.

Francois was stunned and tanked for a few minutes before finally mucking the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, smashing the cards to the middle of the table.

Abbas: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Stark: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{J-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Abbas was sent to the rail in 10th place for €6,050. There is now a short break with the redraw for the final table and setting up the live stream. Furthermore, all finalists will be interviewed so the next update will take a while still.

The clock shows 03:58 minutes remaining for the current level.

Weiss Tanking

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Not much has happened on both tables and there was just one flop without any action. Over on the feature table, Fred Weiss is now among the shorter stacks and tanks a lot for decisions when he is in the blinds.

Pierre Antona and Joachim Kleiven had moved all in without getting called on the outer table.

"Ace is Good"

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Jussi Heikela opened to 110,000 from the cutoff and Loic Francois flat-called in the small blind. The Frenchman check-called the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop for 150,000 and did so again after the {10-Hearts} turn for 275,000. Heikela then checked behind the {6-Clubs} river with Francois announcing an ace.

"Ace is good," Heikela nodded and Francois took it down with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

A Couple of Shoves

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Chip leader Karl Stark open-shoved out of the small blind into short stack David Abbas and the Frenchman folded with 10 big blinds remaining.

Then, Fred Weiss min-raised to 80,000 and tank-folded to a three-bet of Loic Francois to 185,000. Abbas took down the hand after with a shove from the button and Joachim Kleiven also jammed from under the gun on the secondary table.

Julien Sitbon asked for a count and it was 575,000 to go. "Usually I have to snap call with my hand," the Frenchman said. "Will you show if I fold?" Sitbon continued and then laid down his hand with the "I like you," flashing {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Kleiven showed {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and also revealed {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} soon after when yet another all in went through uncalled.

Sitbon Continues Rise

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The next bigger pot on the secondary table also went to Julien Sitbon. He had flat-called a raise on the button and initial raiser Florian Ferroni in the under-the-gun seat continued for 100,000 on the {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop. Ferroni's second barrel worth 150,000 was min-raised to 300,000 and Sitbon claimed the pot without showdown thanks to the muck of his opponent.

Francois Doubles Through Weiss

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Over on the feature table, Fred Weiss opened to 80,000 and Loic Francois moved all in for 725,000 from one seat over. A staring contest between the two of them broke out and Francois was almost smiling behind his green sunglasses. He eventually got the call he wanted:

Francois: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Weiss: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

After the {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Francois was begging for low cards and the {J-Clubs} turn then saw him whisper "brick brick" several times. The {7-Spades} river was exactly that and he doubled.

Steal me Once

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Back from the break, Joachim Kleiven moved all in from under the gun and Julien Sitbon joked: "What did you drink in the break?" The Norwegian laughed and said "Red Bull."

Kleiven got through with it and Sitbon then raised the small blind in the next hand for 100,000. "I stole your big blind, you can have mime" was the comment from the Norwegian, who kept smiling. Sitbon also claimed the next pot with a button raise and successful continuation bet against David Hefner.
