Six to the Money

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Christophe Meurant is the latest casualty after a three-bet shove from the button. Initial raiser David Abbas wasted little time before calling with the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and it was the perfect timing, as Meurant had the slightly worse kicker with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

Abbas paired his king on the {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} flop, but that also gave his opponent a gutshot. The {10-Diamonds} turn and {3-Spades} river were of no help to Meurant and he wished everyone best of luck still: "Bonne continuation."

Simpson Gets Sas

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Szilard Sas was all in for just 57,000 on the feature table with the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Ian Simpson looked him up with the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The two over cards and even a gutshot on a board of {2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} failed and the Hungarian was gone.

Lini versus Csiszar

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Joining the action on the {5-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} turn, Franck Link check-raised from 27,000 to what looked like 60,000 out of the big blind and Matyas Csiszar called rather quickly from early position. Then, Lini grabbed his stack of T-5,000 chips and bet 95,000 with not much behind.

Csiszar eventually folded after giving it some thought, it would have been for pretty much half his remaining stack.

Rodrigues Doubles

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Zsombor Gall min-raised from the button and had to call the shove of short stack Paulo Rodrigues for just 32,000 with the {3-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The Dutchman held the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and the board bricked out for an urgently needed double up.

Heiskanen Scores Double

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From the button, Kimi Heiskanen shoved all in and was called by Benjamin Westergaard from one seat over, the player in the big blind folded. Heiskanen's {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} got there against {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} on a board of {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and he is still in it to win it.

New Chips in Play

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

New grey T-25,000 chips have been introduced while one player has been eliminated over on the feature table.

Loic Francois just got some value off Nicolay Langfeldt to bump up his stack when his {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} made a backdoor straight and flush on a board of {5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

Correction: 54 left

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The screens only now updated and reflected the late eliminations of Jens Hansen and Grzegorz Kowalczyk towards the end of the previous level. Julien Bolimowski on the contrary is up to 362,000 chips and just came over to the media desk to make sure his count is up to date.

Consider that done with this post.

20 Minutes Break

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 1,000 ante

The second break of the day has just started and everyone can enjoy 20 minutes off. Yet another chip race will take place, as the T-500 denominations are no longer needed either. In the first four hours of play, the field has been reduced to 56 hopefuls only out of the 121 that returned to the Casino Barriere Cannes just after lunch time.

Massive Three-Way Clash

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 1,000 ante

Vyacheslav Igin was all in and at risk for 89,500 preflop and received two opponents in Julien Pecheur from the button and Frederic Ayadi in the small blind. Pecheur had them both covered and the best hand in {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, but Ayadi's {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Igin's {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} made both a straight on the {5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.
