Small Pot for Peluchon

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Action folded to Henri Peluchon on in the cutoff and he opened for 250. Small blind Jussi Perlinen made the call and big blind Ole Kristensen both called.

All three of them checked on {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and the {J-Clubs} hit the turn. Perlinen bet out 525 and Kristensen folded right away. Initial raiser Peluchon made the call and the dealer burned and put the {K-Diamonds} on the river.

Perlinen fired 1,100 and Peluchon called. Perlinen mucked and Peluchon showed his {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The dealer turned over Perlinen's {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the pot went to Peluchon.

No Bust Outs Yet

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The clock was wrong there for a second, there have been no bust outs yet.

Last year a total of 168 players registered for the event for Day 1a, today's field is already closing in on that with 161 players registered at the moment.

Short-Handed

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

There's still a queue for registration, but a lot of the players are already seated at the 10-handed tables. The prediction is not all 10 seats per table will be used, but as a precaution, they are there right now. Some of the tables are actually still 2-handed, which means there's no play going on yet as the tournament requires 3 players at the table to start dealing.

It's Getting Busy

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The start of Day 1a of the Unibet Open Copenhagen was slightly delayed, but the event is now underway and a total of 132 players have signed up so far. The tournament clock tells just 131 players are battling it out at the moment, which means one player has already been eliminated. We have no details on that early bust out yet, but are looking for it.

The Unibet Open Copenhagen Starts Today!

Today the Unibet Open caravan will halt in Copenhagen for it's third installment of the season. While it's the third time for the poker tour to visit the Danish capital, it's the first time the event is being held during summer, which is a welcome break from tradition as the last three years it was chilly and snowy when the event was being held.

The event will be hosted by Casino Copenhagen inside the luxurious Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, and will feature several smaller events, a high roller tournament, and a DKK 7,500 +750 Main Event (€1,000 +€100). PokerNews.com is in Copenhagen to report all the action from the Main Event, starting today at noon. The complete schedule is as followed:

Nataly Sopacuaperu, Head of Events at Unibet, was happy to go back to the Danish capital;

I'm extremely excited to come back to Copenhagen. This will be the first time the event will be held in summer and we expect full house again. It's going to be a great tournament with the debut of a new tournament director. On top of all the poker action, we've managed to host the players party at a venue with a roof terrace, it's going to be great!

Besides the poker action, Unibet Open tournaments are known for their fun atmosphere and plenty of activities outside of the poker room. This venture into Copenhagen will be no different, with a welcome drink at the start of the tournament, and the legendary player party at on Saturday August 27th.

Unibet Open Copenhagen will mark the 37th installment of the Unibet Open since its inception back in 2007. There's one more tournament planned for 2016 after the stop in Copenhagen, a massive €500,000 guaranteed Unibet Open in Bucharest. Here's a look at all the former champions the Unibet Open poker tour crowned in it's 9-year history:
