One of the most popular CS:GO streamers on Twitch - Alan 'hotted89' Widmann - made his way to Malta to compete in the e-sports Battle Royale and the Unibet Open Main Event. We spoke to Widmann about his play, and the adrenaline rush he gets from poker.
Griffin Benger came over to the media row to tell us another little anecdote.

Benger looked to his right, and told his big stack neighbor; "Look at me... Look at me... I'm the captain now!"
The next hand that very same player opened for 1,400. Benger three-bet to 4,500 and told him once more who the captain (of the table was). Benger's neighbor folded and the Canadian GPL commentator raked in the chips.
"45,000" shouted Benger as we asked him how much he was playing while he got back to his table, "And a dream!" we heard him continue in the background.
From middle position, Nerchaubough Tachajian limped in for 600. Christian Ostfelt in the cutoff made it 2,000 and his neighbor Nicolas Proust made the call. Both blinds folded, Tachajian made the call to make it three-handed.
The flop came and all of them checked. The on the turn saw Tachajian check again. Ostfelt bet 2,500 and both Proust and Tachajian called.
The completed the board and Tachajian checked again. Ostfelt bet 10,500 with 19,000 behind and Proust instantly folded. Tachajian thought about it for a bit longer, but folded as well in the end.
From early position, Stefan Mattsson raised to 2,000 and his neighbor Piotr Zawadzki shoved all in for 8,900. Action folded back to Mattsson and he called.

Patrick van Wolferen walked pas the media row and informed us of his exit. He was down to just 8 big blinds and moved in with . He ran that reasonable hand into a one a bit better; . Five blanks later it was Van Wolferen heading out the door.
His countryman Fokke Beukers lost a sizable pot too. He three-bet a player with and called the 20,000 shove that followed. Beukers was up against but was drawing slim after the flop came . The turn was a blank and Beukers lost the 40,000 pot.
The tournament organization has just announced the prize pool information. The 292 players made for a combined prize pool of €292,000. 36 players get into the money, with a minimum cash of €2,000.
