Halskov Falls to Khatri

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Bhavin Khatri
Bhavin Khatri

Two-time Unibet Open London finalist Bhavin Khatri is starting to lay some serious foundation for a third Unibet Open final table. Khatri just eliminated Martin Halskov to take us down to 27 players.

Halskov was preflop all in with {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} against Khatri's {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop gave Khatri some additional outs and he completed his flush on the {8-Clubs} turn.

Halskov needed the miracle six of clubs to survive. The dealer burned and turned the {J-Spades} instead and Halskov headed to the payout desk.

Johansson Doubles Through McDonald

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
George McDonald
George McDonald

Mikael Johansson and George McDonald got their stacks in the middle preflop in a late position raising war. McDonald had four-bet to 94,000 and called Johansson's 380,000 shove.

Mikael Johansson: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
George McDonald: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop was promising for McDonald, who picked up a flush draw to go with his aces. The {7-Spades} on the turn bricked for the Brit as did the {9-Diamonds} on the river. McDonald was left with less than 100,000 after the hand.

Andersen Also Falls to Hansen

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

After Soren Hansen had raised in middle position, Fredrik Andersen shoved all in for 150,000. Back on Hansen, he immediately made the call to put Andersen at risk.

Fredrik Andersen: {A-}{9-}
Soren Hansen: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

The {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} flop nearly sealed it but Andersen got a backdoor sweat on the {10-Diamonds} turn. The river wasn't the eight but a {Q-Diamonds} and he was eliminated in 29th place. On another table, Adrian Cimpoeru finished in 30th place.

Kozub Doubles to the Chip Lead

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Tomasz Kozub
Tomasz Kozub

With already substantial action between Jes Bondo and Tomasz Kozub on earlier streets, they arrived on the turn on a {3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs} board. Bondo checked, Kozub bet 70,000 and Bondo called.

The river was the {9-Hearts} and Bondo led out with a bet of 100,000. Kozub spent around 90 seconds in the tank before moving all in for 357,000. Bondo raised his eyebrows when he saw the shove.

"Three hundred or so?", the Dane asked and the dealer confirmed the exact amount. After twenty seconds, Bondo committed the calling chips to create the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Kozub showed the mortal nuts with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Bondo mucked his hand face-down.

Leppalahti and Justesen Eliminated

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Teemu Leppalahti and Michael Justesen were the shortest stacks coming out of the dinner break and couldn't make a comeback.

Leppalahti lost his last chips in a blind battle against Mateusz Krzyzewski, where he called a shove in the big blind with {K-}{8-}. Krzyzewski had {A-}{10-} and his hand held up.
