Loosli Empties the Clip

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

It hasn't been the tournament of Sylvain Loosli so far, as the French high roller found himself in the bottom part of the standings throughout the day. Against his countryman Adrian Allain, Loosli went for it by firing three barrels on a {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} board.

Allain check-called both the flop and the turn, but Loosli's 18,500 all in shove on the river proved too much to call. Loosli, who has amassed nearly $6,000,000 in lifetime tournament winnings, is finally above the starting stack.

Mascolo Crushes Barabas in Big Clash

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Giulio Mascolo
Giulio Mascolo

Zoltan Barabas opened with a raise to 3,000 from under the gun. Giulio Mascolo called in middle position and action got folded to the big blind. The big blind moved all in for 36,000 and Barabas made the call after a minute of thought.

Back on Mascolo, the Brit spent nearly three minutes in the tank before shoving all in for 115,700 total. It was almost 80,000 more to call for Barabas, but the Hungarian called without hesitation to create the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Giulio Mascolo: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Zoltan Barabas: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Big Blind: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

It was a dream scenario for Mascolo and his aces held up after the board ran out {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. The big blind was eliminated, while Barabas had to ship nearly two-thirds of his stack over to Mascolo.
