Tobias Peters, Ion Scobai, Silviu Baltatenu, and Razvan Bordei were among the eliminations before the break during Level 9.

Break Time

Level 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Players are now on their first 15-minute break of the day. Blinds will go up to 1,000/2,000 with a big blind ante of 2,000 when play resumes.

Chip Race at Break

Level 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The big blind ante structure in the High Roller not only speeds up play but eliminates the need for smaller denominated chips earlier on than normal.

The tournament director just announced that the dealers will remove the 100 chips from the players stacks via coloring up and chip races.

Espen Uhlen Jorstad Eliminated

Level 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Things never really got going for Espen Uhlen Jorstad during the High Roller. Jorstad's chances for a comeback are over after Narcis Gabriel Nedelcu just sent him packing.

Nedelcu opened to 3,500 before he called a jam from Jorstad for around 16,500. Jorstad turned over {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and his chances weren't looking good after Nedelcu showed he held {A-}{J-}.

The board ran blanks for Jorstad who filed out the door and the dealer sent the pot over to Nedelcu.

Nodea Eliminates Bostan

Level 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Andrei Nodea opened to 3,500 from the button before 2016 Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event champ Traian Bostan three-bet jammed to about 16,000 from the big blind.

Andrei Nodea: {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Traian Bostan: {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Bostan was slightly ahead in a flip situation before the flop. That all changed when Nodea paired the {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn and the {9-Clubs} on the river was unable to save Bostan and he was eliminated in 27th place.

After the hand, Nodea had almost the same stack he started the day as when he was chip leader.

Nathan Schmitt

Esports sensation Nathan "NBK" Schmitt was eliminated just before the blind level increased.

Schmitt opened to 2,500 with blinds at 600/1,200 and a big blind ante of 1,200 from the cutoff before his opponent three-bet to 10,000. Schmitt then four-bet jammed for 45,000 and his opponent called.

Schmitt with ace-queen was outmatched by his opponent's ace-king and was unable to get a save from the board.

"I still had 40 big blinds if I folded but the sizing was too weird," shared Schmitt. "Sucky, sucky."

Spasov Soaring, El Ojeil Eliminated

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The day has started off well for Simeon Spasov. He has a stack of 150,000 after just eliminating Chady El Ojeil.

El Ojeil opened to 2,800 from the button before Spasov three-bet to 7,400 from the big blind. El Ojeil tanked for a minute before he four-bet jammed for about 22,000 and Spasov snap-called.

Chady El Ojeil: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Simeon Spasov: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

El Ojeil was well outmatched and was packing up his things before the flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. The {A-Hearts} on the turn opened up a possible flush draw for El Ojeil. However, the {8-Diamonds} was a safe card for Spasov and El Ojeil hit the rail.
