Piironen Picks Wrong Time to Bluff

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Daniel Jacobson raised to 150,000 with {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Henri Piironen defended {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Jacobson flopped huge on {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and continued 75,000.

Piironen went for all ill-timed bluff attempt and check-raised to 230,000, which his adversary called. On the {K-Diamonds} turn, Piironen kept up the bluff with a bet of 550,000 and Jacobson called again.

The {10-Hearts} on the river double-paired the board and Piironen shut down. Jacobson tried to get some value but Piironen quickly folded.

Roberto Morra Eliminated in 4th Place (€18,980); Julien Stropoli Eliminated in 3rd Place (€25,630)

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Julien Stropoli

Henri Piironen was first to act and folded. In quick succession, both Roberto Morra (510,000) and Julien Stropoli (945,000) shoved all in and Daniel Jacobsen called with lightning speed to put both players at risk.

Roberto Morra: {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Julien Stropoli: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Daniel Jacobsen: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Jacobsen was the favorite to win the hand outright and suddenly, a heads-up match between Jacobsen and Piironen loomed. The {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop swapped Stropoli's outs from the ace to the king, while Morra was drawing all but dead.

The {Q-Spades} on the turn made Jacobson more than a 90% favorite to win the hand and he scored the double knock-out on the {7-Clubs} river. Morra, the shortest of stacks, ended up in 4th place (€18,980), while Stropoli received €25,630 for his third place finish.

The heads-up will commence after a short break, with deep stacks for both players.

Henri Piironen raised to 150,000 in the small blind with {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Roberto Morra defended {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Both players checked the {8-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop.

On the {9-Diamonds} turn, Piironen check-called a bet of 235,000 from Morra. Piironen checked the {8-Diamonds} river, while Morra kept up his aggression with six-high and put out a hefty bet of 700,000.

Piironen went in the tank, then flicked in a calling chip after ninety seconds with the best hand. Morra was left short with just 520,000 in chips.

Gin for Jacobsen

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Daniel Jacobsen
Daniel Jacobsen

Julien Stropoli raised to 110,000 with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and Daniel Jacobsen called with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}. The flop was {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Stropoli quickly checked.

Jacobson took the free turn and caught gin as the {6-Diamonds} was dealt. Stropoli bet 125,000, Jacobsen raised to 360,000 and Stropoli called.

Stropoli checked the {3-Diamonds} to Jacobsen. The Dane bet 515,000 and Stropoli called without much hesitation. The Frenchman was forced to fork over a large part of his stack to his left-hand neighbor.

Jan Eckert Eliminated in 5th Place (€14,600)

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jan Eckert
Jan Eckert

Jan Eckert shoved 850,000 on the button, Henri Piironen reshoved all in from the small blind and Roberto Morra folded the big blind.

Jan Eckert: {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Henri Piironen: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

After the {8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop and {Q-Spades} turn, Eckert would now be needing the kings instead of the aces if he was to survive.

Unfortunately for him, it was the {A-Clubs} that fell on the river and he shook hands as he made his way off the feature table.
