Mecs Eliminated on the Money Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mate Mecs eliminated on the bubble
Mate Mecs eliminated on the bubble

Over on the feature table, Matthew Ireland raised to 10,000 in middle position and Petter Kaarstad called from the hijack. Mate Mecs pushed all in for 32,000 in the cutoff and both Ireland and Kaarstad called.

The flop fell {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {2-Spades} on the turn. Ireland checked again and Kaarstad put in bet of 20,000 which got Ireland to fold. Once the action was completed at the other tables, the two hands were tabled.

Kaarstad turned over {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a full house while Mecs was drawing dead with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. The {10-Clubs} on the river was just a formality and Mecs was eliminated on the money bubble.

Bubble Time

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

With the recent elimination of Lukas Podzemsky, the tournament is now down to 40 players. The clock has been paused while one table breaks and then the hand-for-hand portion of the tournament will commence on the money bubble.

Petrauskas and Bjornli at It Again

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Gedas Petrauskas
Gedas Petrauskas

A completed board of {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} was spread across the felt with around 100,000 in the middle already. Stig Bjornli and Gedas Petrauskas were heads-up again and Bjornli slid out a bet of 35,000.

Petrauskas raised to 140,000 in position and Bjornli wasn't going to lay this one down. He made the call but Petrauskas turned over {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a rivered straight. Petrauskas scooped another massive pot on his way to the top of the leaderboard.

Reard Sends Dielis to the Rail

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Filip Dielis was keeping an eye on the tournament clock with his short stack in front of him as the money bubble approached. However, he picked up a hand that he decided to go with as he shoved all in for just under 80,000 in the hijack. Unfortunately for him, Alexandre Reard woke up with a better hand in the small blind.

Alexandre Reard: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Filip Dielis: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The flop came {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Reard was still out front with his ace-kicker. The {10-Clubs} on the turn and the {5-Hearts} on the river changed nothing and Dielis was sent to the rail.

Top Stacks Battling It Out

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Stig Bjornli raised it up to 8,000 on the button and Gedas Petrauskas called from the big blind. The flop fell {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Petrauskas checked to Bjornli who continued for 10,000. Petrauskas check-raised to 27,000 and Bjornli called.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Petrauskas led out for 24,000. Bjornli still called and the {k-Spades} completed the board. Petrauskas counted out a bet of 70,000 this time and Bjornli gave it some thought but decided to lay his hand down.

Heidelbacher Back Out Front

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a three-bet pot, Yiqian Song and Christopher Heidelbacher were heads-up on a flop of {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Song checked from middle position and Heidelbacher announced all in with around 50,000 chips in the middle. Song went into the tank for a couple of minutes before calling off his stack of just under 80,000.

Christopher Heidelbacher: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Yiqian Song: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Despite flopping top pair, Song was still trailing Heidelbacher's overpair. The {a-Clubs} on the turn nor the {3-Diamonds} on the river could improve Song and his tournament was over.

Boiko Finds a Double Up

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Serdar Demircan raised it up to 12,000 in middle position and Mate Mecs called in the cutoff. Iarolsav Boiko shipped all in for 47,000 on the button which got Demircan to fold and Mecs quickly called.

Iaroslav Boiko: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Mate Mecs: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Boiko was in a dominating position and later found out he was even further ahead when Demircan announced that he folded ace-ten as well. The board ran out {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Boiko held on for a double up.

Martinsson Bows Out

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The action folded around to Adam Martinsson in the small blind who jammed all in for just under 60,000. Luca Beretta was in the big blind with the most chips on the table and made the call.

Luca Beretta: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Adam Martinsson: {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Martinsson needed to connect with the board but found no help on the {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Spades} runout.
