Brunnberg Makes a Big Fold

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Over on the feature table, the action has caught up to an interesting hand between Emil Brunnberg and Alexandru Farcasanu. The former opened with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Farcasanu three-bet to 2,200 with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} on the button, the call of Brunnberg followed. Both checked the {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop and the {9-Clubs} turn brought a bet of 3,000 by Brunnberg. Farcasanu raised to 7,400 and picked up a call.

On the {Q-Spades} river, Brunnberg remained second-best with his set and checked, prompting a bet of 18,200 by Farcasanu with the nut flush. Brunnberg gave it some consideration and indeed folded.

The third level draws to a close and another half a dozen players have been eliminated with 158 out of 175 entries remaining. Among those to bust was also Andreas Leledakis, who was left very short and doubled twice before his miracle comeback came to an end recently.

Lebor and Jeppsson Bounce Back

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Benjamin Lebor had started well only to drop well below the starting stack. Lebor just bounced back above what he started with and "made things life" according to the table chat. Facing a squeeze to 3,800, Lebor simply jammed for more than 29,000 and that forced a fold from his sole remaining opponent.

Nils Jeppsson has also moved back above the starting stack. The Swede check-raised a {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{K-Hearts} river from 2,900 to 7,500 in a battle small blind versus button and his opponent folded.

Manolea Doubles Through Pertea

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Marius Pertea
Marius Pertea

With the completed board showing {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Marius Pertea bet 24,000 into a pot of 20,000 and Luciana Manolea was the only remaining opponent. Manolea had 11,500 behind and double-checked her cards, took another minute of consideration and shrugged before pushing forward her stack with the words "I call."

Pertea tabled the {A-Spades}{5-Spades} for aces and fives, Manolea had that beat with {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and doubled.

An Ace Slows Down the Action

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

While plenty of chips went in before the flop, an ace on the board of {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} deescalated the action between Mihail Rablou and Laurentiu Avram. They checked the turn and river with the former showing {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Avram won the pot with the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Rablou remains ahead in the counts on a table that also features Sven “Svennoss” Edelenbosch.

Bracelet Winner Papazian in Action

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Alexandru Papazian, the first Romanian to win a bracelet for his home country at the World Series of Poker, has been spotted in the field. However, he looked somewhat different as the signature beard he had been sporting the last few years was gone and a second glance was needed to verify it was indeed Papazian.

Carmen Zainescu and Silviu Baltateanu have started well and the current chip leader appears to be Gabriel Gavrila.
