Set-Over-Set Action

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

With 9,000 in the middle and the flop showing {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, a bet of 3,000 was in front of Stefan Drusca and Gelu Herea jammed for more than 30,000 from one seat over. One fold followed and Andrei Toma called all in for 22,600. Drusca eventually folded and saw both opponents turn over a set.

Andrei Toma: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Gelu Herea: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The {5-Clubs} turn and {7-Clubs} river brought no upset and Toma doubled. "I had ace-queen of diamonds," Drusca said and pulled his cards out of the muck, {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} was also revealed to have been folded as well.

Manolea Runs Riot; Busts Pertea and Hills

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Luciana Manolea
Luciana Manolea

Luciana Manolea has boosted her stack significantly and sent Marius Pertea as well as Andy Hills to the rail.

According to Hills, Manolea bet a four-flush river and Pertea moved all in with {K-}{10-} to get called by Manolea with the {Q-Hearts} in her hand.

Soon after, Hills clashed with Manolea and also ended up second-best. A raise to 700 by Hills was met by a three-bet to 2,600 on the button and the Brit four-bet to 6,900, Manolea called. On the {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop, Hills checked with around 14,000 behind and Manolea glanced at his stack before betting 15,000. Hills gave it some thought and called all in.

Andy Hills: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Luciana Manolea: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The {J-Spades} turn and {8-Clubs} river bricked off and Hills was gone.

Apparently, the duo had played in the SuperStack Side Event the previous day where he saw Manolea three-bet very frequently. "I called because I thought ace-king would have gotten it in preflop," Hills added before heading out of the tournament area.

Simpson Busts on the Feature Table

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Ian Simpson
Ian Simpson

Over on the feature table in the last level, Ian Simpson three-bet an open raise of Dumitru Pora from 400 to 1,200 in the cutoff with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Pora called with the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} in the under-the-gun position. They checked the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop and Pora bet the {10-Hearts} turn for 1,100, Simpson called.

After the {K-Clubs} river, Pora checked and Simpson bet 3,500 with around 26,000 behind. Pora check-shoved for 29,300 and both players held near identical stacks. Simpson engaged in table chat with his opponent for more than two minutes and eventually flicked in the call to get shown the bad news. The stacks were counted and the Unibet Poker ambassador was covered to bow out. He will have to re-enter on Day 1c later today to get a second chance at running up a stack for day 2.
