Assorted Counts

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

The final level of registration is well underway and Day 1b currently has 175 entries, of which 127 remain. Those that already busted won't have to wait for long in order to join the action again as the turbo heat 1c kicks off at 10 p.m. local time.

Widmann Flips Well

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Alan Widmann
Alan Widmann

Alan "Hotted89" Widmann raised and Tudor Bartha Lazar three-bet to 3,500 from two seats over. Henri Vaeisaenen in the big blind jammed for 14,200 and Widmann called. Lazar eventually folded and said later in table chat he folded queens.

Henri Vaeisaenen: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Alan Widmann: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop gave Widmann top two pair, and the {7-Spades} turn and {9-Clubs} river sent Vaeisaenen to the rail.

Ropert Cannot Get Winther to Fold

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Monica Vaka
Monica Vaka

In the last hand before their table broke, Corentin Ropert and Oerjahn Winther clashed in a three-way pot. Winther had opened first to act to 900 and Ropert called in the small blind, as did the big blind. Ropert check-raised the {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop from 1,200 to 4,000 and Winther came along.

The {4-Spades} turn brought a bet of 5,000 by the Frenchman and Winther called once more before Ropert bet the {2-Hearts} river for 16,000. Winther called after plenty of consideration and was shown the {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} by Ropert, who had turned two pair and played the straight on the board eventually. Winther showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and they chopped it up.

Winther was moved to another table and took the seat that formerly belonged to Unibet Poker ambassador Monica Vaka. Down to very few chips on the dinner break, Vaka had stuck around for a while but didn't make it into level six.

AndyPyro No More

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Anssi Huovinen
Anssi Huovinen

Anssi "AndyPyro" Huovinen has been spotted among the recent casualties and the esports streamer from Finland was unfortunate enough to run jacks into queens when a jack and a queen appeared on the flop.

Also no longer in contention for Day 1b is early big stack Hitesh Chandarana, who sent his chips over to Ciprian Voican. Both players had flopped a pair of tens in a three-bet pot, but Voican rivered two pair with {Q-}{10-} versus {K-}{10-} to deal the final blow according to Ran Shahar.

Joostens Fades the Diamonds

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Lennaert Joostens ended up all in and at risk with {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} on a {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop and his opponent turned over {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the diamond flush draw. The {7-Hearts} turn and {4-Spades} river were both blanks and the Dutchman doubled.

Fabian Wins a Big Flip

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Alexandru Farcasanu
Alexandru Farcasanu

Alexandru Farcasanu had returned from the dinner break with an above-average stack, but he showed up in the recent casualties. A quick look at his table, the former feature table, revealed a big stack for fellow Romanian Stefan Fabian.

According to Fabian, it was a "big flip" that decided the fate of Farcasanu, who five-bet jammed out of the big blind with pocket jacks. Fabian on the button called with ace-king suited and got there.

Since coming back from the break, John "Swifty" Pyle has also doubled and is in a much better position now.

Svennoss Eliminated

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Sven Edelenbosch
Sven Edelenbosch

Sven "Svennoss" Edelenbosch had returned from dinner with a shorter stack, which also applied for Katie Swift, and they shared the same fate to run out of chips in quick succession.

Edelenbosch faced a raise to 900 by Mihail Rablou and a call by Laurentiu Avram, then jammed for the last 8,200. Rablou asked for a count and called, trying to get Avram also into the mix, but a quick fold followed.

Sven Edelenbosch: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Mihail Rablou: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

"Ah, nice," Edelenbosch said when he spotted the aces on the other side of the table. The Dutch streamer picked up some hope on the {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, but the {J-Spades} turn and {7-Hearts} river were of no help.

Chandarana Takes Another Hit

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

The cards of Hitesh Chandarana were already in the muck and he paid off the all in of a short-stacked Catalin Popa, who had rivered the nuts with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} on a board of {J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades} to remain in contention.
