O'Kearney Survives; Winther Loses Some

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Dara O'Kearney ended up forced all in with the {9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} in the big blind and hit a nine on the flop versus {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} to remain in contention.

In the meanwhile, some bigger pots took place without any major action or significance.

Oerjahn Winther, who has spent the entire day with reading books while playing, lost two pots in a row to drop below half a million in chips. In the second hand, he bet the {K-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} river for 27,000. Gilles Huet reluctantly called and won the pot with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} versus {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

On the flop of {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Corentin Ropert check-shoved for 77,000 out of the big blind when facing a bet of 16,000 by Gabriel Gavrila in the cutoff. Gavrila reluctantly called and the cards were tabled.

Corentin Ropert: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Gabriel Gavrila: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Gavrila nodded and saw his stack take a big hit on the {7-Clubs} turn and {J-Hearts} river run out. Still 49 players remaining.

Game Over for Rotterdam

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alexandru Palievici called a raise to 14,000 by Steven Vollers while Kevin van der Kooi had already been all in for 1,000 first to act and the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop brought a check-fold of Pollers.

Palievici turned over {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and van der Kooi held the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for trips aces. The {2-Diamonds} turn and {10-Spades} river were blanks and van der Kooi chipped up to 10,000. There was just one problem ... he was in the big blind the next hand and he had to post the 5,000 big blind ante, forced all in once more.

"No shame in folding," the Dutchman joked to Razvan Bizera in the small blind, as everyone had folded already. Bizera filled up and the cards were turned over once again.

Kevin van der Kooi: {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Razvan Bizera: {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} left van der Kooi drawing dead and he was eliminated. Mariusz Niski fell at the same time and that reduced the field to the last 49.

Dmitrii Prusov
Dmitrii Prusov

Razvan Bizera jammed the small blind over a button raise to 12,000 by Dmitrii Prusov and Kevin van der Kooi was forced all in for a single chip in the big blind. Prusov called for 124,000 and the cards were turned over.

Kevin van der Kooi: {5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Dmitrii Prusov: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Razvan Bizera: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The board came {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and van der Kooi survived, but only improved to 3,000 chips. He folded the small blind the next hand to get a full orbit with the single chip, a few spots away from the money.

Tournament director Glenn Doyle also already announced that Day 2 will only end once the money bubble has burst.

Drama for "Rotterdam"

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The feature table shows the action on a delay of 30 minutes and Razvan Bizera had just made a move with {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} only for Kevin "Rotterdam" van der Kooi to wake up with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and double on a board of {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Fast forward some 25 minutes and Rotterdam just ended up all in against Alexandru Palievici in a flip with almost identical chips.

Alexandru Palievici: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Kevin van der Kooi: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board came {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and van der Kooi was left with just one 1,000 chip.

The Baltateanu Show Commences

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Silviu Baltateanu in the small blind and Stefan Drusca in the under-the-gun position clashed in a big pot, which brought a hefty bet on the {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} turn and the snap-shove for approximately 190,000 on the {3-Clubs} river.

Drusca had barely spent any second to act yet when Baltateanu said "it's time" and demanded to have the clock called on Drusca. This request was denied and another two minutes passed before Drusca was given 30 seconds to act. During that time, Baltateanu kept talking loudly in Romanian, which he frequently does whenever involved in the poker action, and Drusca ended up folding.
