Razvan Sabau Eliminated in 12th Place (€5,470)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Razvan Sabau
Razvan Sabau

Stefan Drusca opened to 50,000 and Oerjahn Winther called on the button. Razvan Sabau, who had lost more than half of his stack since coming back from the dinner break, jammed the small blind for 555,000 and that sent Sabau deep into the think tank. He eventually called and Winther folded.

Razvan Sabau: {Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Stefan Drusca: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The move of Sabau came at the wrong time and the {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop left him with running outs only. The {10-Diamonds} turn left him drawing dead, which made the {2-Spades} river a formality.

"I would have called if he folded," Winther said in table chat.

Gilles Huet
Gilles Huet

Gilles Huet raised it up with the {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and chip leader Martin Soukup defended the big blind with the {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. On the {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, Soukup check-raised from 40,000 to 115,000 and Huet gave it some consideration before moving all in for 345,000.

The snap-call of Soukup followed and Huet was left drawing dead right away on the {9-Spades} turn, the {2-Diamonds} river was a formality. Huet exited in 13th place and receives €5,470 for his efforts.

Palievici in Trouble

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Alexandru Palievici lost quite a few chips since returning from the dinner break and was just involved in several pots that left his stack fluctuate massively.

Palievici bet the {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} river for 50,000 with {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} in the small blind and Espen Uhlen Jorstad reluctantly called with the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, Martin Soukup folded {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Jorstad claimed the pot.

In the next hand, Palievici jammed the small blind and Gilles Huet called after brief consideration for the last 200,000.

Gilley Huet: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Alexandru Palievici: {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board came {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Palievici was left with a mountain to climb.

He jammed the next button and Toni Judet called from the big blind.

Alexandru Palievici: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Toni Judet: {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Palievici took the lead on the turn, fell behind and got some river magic on the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} board to remain in contention.

Moraru Chips Up

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Corentin Ropert four-bet jammed into Razvan Sabau and forced a fold to boost his stack. However, soon after he would lose most of those chips again in a hand with Catalin Moraru.

Moraru under the gun bet the {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} turn for 105,000 and Ropert called in the cutoff. Moraru bet again a blank river and Ropert folded.

Bogdan Sovaiala raised the button with the {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Martin Soukup defended the big blind with {6-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Soukup checked the {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop and called a bet of 50,000.

The {2-Spades} turn gave Soukup the nut straight and both players checked to the {10-Clubs} river. Soukup bet 275,000, which covered the remaining 205,000 of Sovaiala, and the Romanian eventually called it off with top pair to end up in 14th place for €4,820.
