Persistent Persent on the Rise

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

In four-way action to the {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop on the feature table, Jon Persent bet 2,000 and was called only by Radoslaw Matyjaszczyk with the {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for an open-ender. Persent held the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flush draw and paired up on the {q-Spades} turn, betting again to win the pot.

Persent then got involved with the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} against Alan Sexton, who remained in contention with the {a-Spades}{5-Spades} in the cutoff. On the {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, Sexton raised from 2,200 to 4,800 for Persent to call. The {k-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Persent check-jammed when Sexton bet 11,000 for half his stack.

Sexton called it off for 20,300 total with the gutshot and nut flush draw but bricked the {6-Diamonds} river to hit the rail.

Recent Eliminations

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Unibet Poker ambassador Alexandre Reard had a short stint at the tables and was among those to bust but will certainly give Day 1c another shot.

Bujok Chips Up With Aggression

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Szymon Bujok
Szymon Bujok

Szymon Bujok raised to 1,000 in the hijack and was called by Fokke Beukers in the cutoff. The action then folded to Reoul van Wersch, who squeezed to 4,500. As Bujok tried to eyeball his stack, Van Wersch replied "around 21k" before the initial raiser made it 13,100 to go.

"How much did you have again?" Beukers inquired but quickly sent his cards into the muck. Van Wersch came to the same conclusion and Bujok further increased his large stack without showdown.

Hoogendijk Loses a Small Bunch to Westby

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Anko Hoogendijk defended his big blind to see a flop of {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} on which the Dutchman elected to check out of the big blind. Tony Westby made it 800 to go and Hoogendijk came along to the {5-Hearts} turn, opting to check once more. Westby followed that up with a second barrel for 1,500 and that was all it took to win the pot.

Big Stacks and Bustouts

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Jasenko Ivezic was a short stack for a while and eventually ran out of chips, which also applied for Nick Thomsen as well. Koen Roos had been a big stack in the first level already and built on that success to accumulate nearly three times the starting stack thus far.

Furthermore, Finnish rapper Dan Tolppanen has nearly doubled up already and is among the bigger stacks in the field in level four.

Jula Knocked out by Lohunko

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Ovidiu Jula
Ovidiu Jula

Just before the blinds went up, Ovidiu Jula three-bet jammed the last 5,500 out of the big blind when facing a raise by Sebastian Lohunko from under the gun and a call by the small blind. Lohunko was the only caller and the cards were flipped over.

Ovidiu Jula: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Sebastian Lohunko: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and the overcard struck eventually for Lohunko to score the knockout.

Juutilainen Jams Up his Stack Further

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

With around 8,500 in the middle to the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} turn, Nick Thomsen checked out of the blinds. The table big stack Henri Juutilainen bet 3,000 and received a call by Thomsen. Both headed to the {k-Hearts} on the river on which Thomsen checked once more.

Juutilainen motioned to his opponent to see his remaining chips before betting more than that, as he splashed in three blue T-5,000 chips. Thomsen folded and was left with around one quarter of the starting stack.

Even fewer chips were at the disposal for Mateusz Moolhuizen two seats over, who lost the remainder of his severe short stack moments later.

Van Wersch Chips Up Through Vodegel

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Reoul Van Wersch
Reoul Van Wersch

Heads-up to the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} turn, Reoul van Wersch checked and then called a bet worth 2,100 by Dheni Vodegel as they headed to the {7-Hearts} on the river. Van Wersch checked once more and Vodegel bet 3,500 to receive an instant call, flipping over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for a bluff.

Van Wersch had that crushed with the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and further increased his already decent stack.

Heinsvig Scoops Three-Way Pot

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Nazim Guillaud had been the initial raiser from under the gun to pick up two callers in the blinds including Kenneth Heinsvig and Christos Xanthopoulos. They both checked the {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop and Guillaud bet 1,000 only for Heinsvig to check-raise, making it 2,300 to go.

Only Guillaud called and the {3-Hearts} followed on the turn, prompting a bet of Heinsvig and instant fold by the Frenchman.
