Leerman Runs Out Empty

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jukka Vainio took on Andreas Moser when he jammed the {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades} river for pretty much the size of the pot. The Austrian gave it some thought and folded while the stoic Finn raked in the pot without giving away anything at all.

Geert Leerman then got a shove through with a very short stack, shaking his head. Moments later, the Belgian was gone. His cards were in the muck already as Vainio dragged in the pot with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} on a {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds} board.

Jason Smyth also departed from a nearby table as well. He bumped fists with five of his seven opponents and jokingly apologised towards the two big stacks Dylan Kirstein as well as Alexis Longhe because they had literally just arrived a few minutes ago. Smyth left the table with a smile on the face and even fist-bumped the dealer on his way out as well.

Another Double-Up for Van Dijk

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

"I lose every fuckin all-in, unbelievable. Three outs and you hit instantly," a very frustrated Serdar Demircan gasped when he got it all-in before the flop against Bart van Dijk for 37,800.

Bart van Dijk: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Serdar Demircan: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The frustration was triggered by the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, as neither the {2-Clubs} turn nor {q-Clubs} river changed anything whatsoever.

End of the Road for Sudunagunta

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Siddhart Sudunagunta
Siddhart Sudunagunta

Shortly after losing more than half of his short stack, Siddhart Sudunagunta pushed all-in for around 8,500. Dara O'Kearney moved all-in over the top from the cutoff and all players behind let go.

Siddhart Sudunagunta: {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Dara O'Kearney: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Neither player connected with the {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board and that spelled the end for Sudunagunta.

Double-Ups for Van Dijk and O'Kearney

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Serdar Demircan pushed blind-on-blind into Bart van Dijk and the latter called all-in for 20,800 out of the big blind.

Bart van Dijk: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Serdar Demircan: {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Van Dijk doubled.

Shortly after, Dara O'Kearney got a shove through to win the blinds and flashed ace-queen.

Van Dijk then opened to 3,000 in the cutoff and Siddhart Sudunagunta three-bet jammed for 23,200 on the button. O'Kearney called all-in for 14,700 in the big blind and Van Dijk folded.

Dara O'Kearney: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Siddhart Sudunagunta: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The pocket pair remained ahead throughout the {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board as short stack wizard O'Kearney doubled back to more than the starting stack again.

Smyth Flips Well for a Double

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The action folded all the way to Joni Liimatta in the small blind and the Finn pushed several T-5,000 in the middle of the table. Jason Smyth called all-in for 16,300 and the following coin flip unfolded.

Jason Smyth: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Joni Liimatta: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

No help came on the {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop and {5-Spades} turn but the {a-Hearts} river gave Smyth the superior two pair.

Longhe Pays Off Kirstein

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

What has appeared to be a two-horse raise for the Day 1b lead is now shifted towards Arnaud Enselme. Dylan Kirstein was hot on his heels but lost a few chips before getting some of them back.

Alexis Longhe in the small blind defended against Kirstein and check-called the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop for 3,500. The {k-Clubs} turn went check, check, and Longhe check-called another 5,500 on the {3-Spades} river. Kirstein revealed the {a-Spades}{4-Spades} for trips aces and Longhe mucked {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Hunter Slips Further on the Leaderboard

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On the river of a {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board, John Hunter paid off a medium-sized bet by Damien Gayer. The latter tabled the {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for the flopped straight and Hunter sent his cards into the muck with a sublime "nice".

Khodiyara Reaches the Average Stack

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The pace of eliminations is certainly slower than in the previous regular starting day as some 68 players out of 152 contenders remain near the end of level nine on Day 1b.

The UK's Hasmukh Khodiyara avoided the knockout when his {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} flopped a set of sixes to double through Serdar Demircan. Both players are now pretty much spot on for the average stack and aim to survive another two levels until bagging and tagging.
