The 2023 Unibet Deepstack Open (UDSO) Marrakech main event begins today at Casino de Marrakech with the first of four starting flights. This is the first UDSO event to take place in Marrakech since 2017 when French pro Sonny Franco topped a field of 94 entrants in the main event to take home MAD 100,000 (€9,899).
Several UDSO Main Event winners have already been crowned in 2023. Most recently, Guillaume Garcia took down the UDSO Gujan-Mestras main event for €44,000. Other notable 2023 UDSO champions include UDSO Paris main event winner Eric Geraume (€65,000) and UDSO Aix en Provence main event winner Gabriel Bardini (€45,400).

The 2023 UDSO Marrakech schedule features 29 events with buy-ins ranging from MAD 650 (€59 ) to MAD 30,000 (€2,727). The highlight of the schedule will undoubtedly be the 6000 MAD (€545) main event. The four starting flights for the main event are on October 4th, October 5th and October 6th (where there will be an additional turbo Day 1) respectively. The fields then combine for Day 2 on October 7th and the final day will take place on October 8th.
Players will start at 1 p.m. local time with 50,000 in chips and play 50-minute levels for the first 19 levels of play, at which point the rest of the tournament will play 60-minute levels. Late registration will be open for the first nine levels for each Day 1, and there are unlimited re-entries permitted during that period. Cards are in the air starting at 1 p.m. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels and a one-hour dinner break after level 8. The day will conclude after 13 levels at approximately 2:00 a.m. local time on Thursday October 5.

Cards are in the air for Day 1a of the 2023 Unibet Deepstack Open Marrakech Main Event. There are currently 12 players to begin the day. Players will play thirteen 50-minute levels before bagging for Day 2.
"Grosnouel" opened to 500 from under the gun and received calls from Marc Navarro on the button and Yves Siess in the small blind. Ayoub Khlifi three-bet to 3,000 in the big blind, folding out "Grosnouel" while both Navarro and Siess made the call.
The flop came K♥10♥6♣. Siess checked and Khlifi bet 2,400. Navarro got out of the way and Siess made the call.
Siess check-called another bet from Khlifi on the 2♦ turn, this time for 6,000.
On the J♣ river Siess checked again and Khlifi bet small for 2,000. Siess raised to 15,000 and Khlifi quickly folded.

With four players seeing a board reading J♣10♣4♣ and about 1,800 in the middle, action checked around to Iryna Tsikhanskaya on the button who bet 1,900. Hicham Amrani called from the small blind while Rachid Boughrara and Ugo Palmero folded from middle position and the cutoff respectively.
Both remaining players checked the 7♠ turn leading to the 5♠ river. Amrani bet 2,800 and Tsikhanskaya made the call.
Amrani tabled Q♦J♦ for top pair and Tsikhanskaya quickly mucked.

Ugo Taurines opened to 600 from the hijack and Audrey Verlomme three-bet to 2,000 from the button. Taurines made the call.
The flop came 6♠5♠4♣. Taurines checked, Verlomme bet 2,500 and Taurines raised to 7,800. Verlomme made the call.
On the J♥ turn Taurines bet 13,600. Once again Verlomme made the call.
The river came the 10♣. Taurines thought for about one minute before moving all in for approximately 40,000. Verlomme, who was covered slightly, made the call.
Verlomme tabled K♦K♠ for an overpair while Taurines tabled 5♣5♥ for a flopped set to eliminate Verlomme and drag in a massive early pot.

Fouad Zouiten opened to 1,200 from under the gun and received calls from "Grosnouel" on the button, Arthur Brilliet in the small blind and Marc Navarro in the big blind.
Action checked around back to Zouiten, who bet 1,500 on the J♥3♥4♣ flop. Brilliet and Navarro got out of the way while "Grosnouel" made the call.
Zouiten fired a second barrel on the K♣ turn, this time for 4,300. Once again "Grosnouel" made the call.
On the 2♣ river Zouiten bet 6,000 and "Grosnouel" called.
Zouiten revealed 7♦7♣ for a pair of sevens while "Grosnouel" tabled Q♣J♠ for a pair of jacks to take the pot.
