Break Time

Level 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Another three levels have been completed with a total of 33 entries. There are currently 22 players remaining and another 10-minute break is underway.

Qutami Holds the Weapons

Level 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Danny Qutami opened to 6,000 from under the gun and Brian Green three-bet to 16,500 on the button. The action folded back to Qutami who four-bet to 36,000. Green five-bet shipped all in and was snap-called by Qutami.

Danny Qutami: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Brain Green: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Both players smashed the flop of {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} but Green was nearly drawing dead to Qutami's set of aces. The {7-Spades} on the turn secured the pot for Qutami as the {9-Hearts} completed the board. The stacks were counted and it was Qutami who was the player at risk for 164,000. Green was left with under 10,000 and would go on to bust a couple of hands later.

Hyman Doubles, Winter Busted

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Sean Winter
Sean Winter

Matt Hyman and Jake Schindler found a way to get all of the chips in the middle preflop with Hyman being the player at risk for 129,000. Hyman tabled {a-Spades}{10-Spades} on the button while Schindler held {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} in the small blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Hyman picked up a flush draw to go with his two overcards. The turn was the {3-Spades} and Schindler was left drawing dead to the {2-Clubs} on the river.

At another table across the room, Isaac Haxton opened to 5,500 on the button and Sean Winter three-bet to 18,000 from the small blind. Haxton called to go heads-up to a flop of {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Both players tapped the table and the {q-Clubs} rolled off on the turn.

Winter checked again and Haxton fired 33,000. He was met with a check-raise all in from Winter and Haxton snapped him off with the nuts. Haxton tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Winter was drawing to a chop with {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The {10-Clubs} on the river was of no help and Winter was sent to the rail.

Negreanu Loses His Customer

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Bryn Kenney just recently took his seat to the right of Daniel Negreanu and the two wasted no time in getting involved in a pot together. There was around 20,000 in the middle and the board read {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} with the action checked to Negreanu in the cutoff. He put in a bet of 5,000 and Larry Greenberg called from the big blind. Kenney check-raised to 17,000 and was called by only Negreanu.

The {8-Spades} landed on the turn and Kenney tossed in a bet of 24,500. Negreanu pushed forward a stack of T5,000 chips for a raise to 100,000. The raise was nearly enough to cover the stack of Kenney, but he elected to fold as he gave some words of advice to Negreanu.

"You should have let me bluff it all off on the river."

"I thought you were committed," Negreanu replied.

"I had no outs against a set of nines," laughed Kenney.

Heavyweights Battle Again

Level 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ben Tollerene and Jake Schindler battled heads-up on the final table of Event #5 yesterday, and they have found themselves seated next to each other again today. Both players have run up a stack early on and clashed in another big pot.

There was around 15,000 in the middle and the flop read {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. David Peters checked from the big blind and Schindler bet 9,000 in the cutoff. Tollerene called and Peters let his hand go.

The turn brought the {k-Diamonds} and Schindler checked this time, allowing Tollerene to take the lead in the hand with a bet of 15,000. Schindler made the call and the {2-Clubs} peeled off on the river.

Schindler checked again and Tollerene fired another 30,000. Schindler used up one of his time extensions before making the call after a full 90 seconds. Tollerene tabled {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a set of threes and Schindler mucked his cards with a smile on his face.

Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos opened to 3,500 from under the gun and Justin Bonomo three-bet to 11,000 directly to his left. The action folded back around to Mateos who put in a four-bet to 28,500. Bonomo five-bet shipped all in and Mateos called off for 113,500.

Adrian Mateos: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Justin Bonomo: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Mateos was in another coin flip for his stack and looking for a different outcome this time. The board ran out {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Mateos would earn himself a full double up.

Lauren Roberts also joined the field during the break and has found herself sitting to the left of David Peters.
