Winter Fishhooks Foxen

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Sean Winter raised the button to 10,000 and Alex Foxen, who was in the small blind, three-bet to 40,000. Winter responded by moving all in and Foxen called off for 214,000.

Foxen: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Winter: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Foxen was a big favorite and maintained his lead when both players paired on the {q-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop. Unfortunately for Foxen, the dealer burned and turned the {j-Clubs} to give Winter trips. The {5-Spades} river was a brick and Winter got lucky to send Foxen to the rail.

Level 10 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Bill Klein opened to 12,000 from the button, Alex Foxen called in the big blind and the flop fell {3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Both players checked and a {2-Spades} came on the turn.

Foxen led out for 15,000, Klein called and the {a-Hearts} fell on the river. Foxen checked to Klein, he bet 35,000 and Foxen thought for his whole 30-second shot clock, in the end he called and Klein showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for king high. Blieden Runs a Big-Time Bluff on Winter

Level 10 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Sean Winter
Sean Winter

Sean Winter opened under the gun with a raise to 11,000. Koray Aldemir called in the hijack before Dennis Blieden three-bet to 39,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Winter who called. Aldemir called as well creating three-way action.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Winter and Aldemir both checked to Blieden who continued for 36,000. Winter called and Aldemir got out of the way.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and Winter checked again. Blieden made it 91,000 this time. Winter tanked for a bit, then called.

On the {a-Hearts} river, Winter checked for a third time. Blieden tanked and used a time extension before making it 213,000. Winter thought for about 15 seconds before letting go.

Blieden then showed his {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a stone bluff.

"Holy shit," Winter said, throwing his hands behind his head. "Why didn't I just go with my read? Holy shit, I scare myself sometimes. Oh my god."

"I had to show it," Blieden said.

"No, nice hand," Winter said. "I just didn't have the heart. At least my read was right. I just thought maybe you hit that river."

Blieden raked in the massive pot becoming what is likely the chip leader in the tournament and let out a laugh at Winter's exasperation.
