If previous years are anything to go by, today is going to be a mammoth day of poker with two flights of the Winamax Poker Open Main Event scheduled.
First, at midday Day 1b gets underway with 20 levels of 30 minutes for players to try and book their place in Day 2. Then later at 20:00 the special Turbo Day 1c starts.
Our focus will be on Day 1b and we will bring you all the live updates from this, as well as a recap of who advances from the later Day 1c flight.
Last year saw a record field of 1,191 players enter the Main Event which was eventually won by Karol Wojciechowski for €89,716. Plenty of players will be wanting to follow in his footsteps, and will begin their journeys today.

With cards in the air on Day 1b of the Winamax Poker Open Main Event, the tournament clock already shows over 500 players seated. With late registration open for 16 levels, it looks like today is going to be a huge day of poker!
There will be several Winamax Team Pros in the field today, and the first two have taken their seats. Both Leo Margets and Gaelle Baumann are hoping to have a deep run in the Main Event.
Margets has never cashed in the Winamax Poker Open Dublin Main Event before, with Baumann's last cash coming back in 2013 when she finished 86th for €1,100.

On a flop Sylvain Dezilleaux check-called a bet of 850 from Aleksander Boski and the turn brought the .
Dezilleaux appeared to check, but then bet 1,200 before Boski could act. The dealer clarified and after consulting with Boski, the bet was allowed to stand.
Boski then raised to 4,200 and Dezilleaux called.
The pair checked the river and Dezilleaux showed . Boski checked his hand before mucking.

Florian Carteron opened to 650 and Roland Pardoux called. Jean Salaun was on the button and three-bet to 3,000. Both players called.
The flop of was checked to Salaun who continued for 3,000. Carteron was the only caller.
The pair checked the turn and river and Carteron showed for a missed straight, but crucially a rivered pair. Salaun checked his hand before mucking.
