Day 1b of the €500 (5,500 Dirham) Winamax SISMIX Main Event, running at the Casino de Marrakech in the El Saadi Resort, has now concluded.

The second of four starting flights, Day 1b saw a total of 615 entrants, which topped Day 1a to bring the total number of entries to 1,036. Of those who entered the flight, a total of 103 players made it through to Day 2 and into the money.

Jeremy Palvini finished the day as chip leader with 1,130,000 chips. That makes him the overall chip leader, ahead of Day 1a chip lead Javier Tsunamy.

According to Hendon Mob, Palvini has €1,332,735 in recorded live tournament winnings. His most recent victory and biggest career cash came in the 2023 Monte Carlo Deepstack event. He'll be in contention for a huge score once again.

Sebastien Lebaron, who spent a chunk of the latter part of the tournament on the feature table, finished Day 1b in second place with 960,000 chips.

There wasn't much in it when it came to third, fourth and fifth place. In third place for the day was Issam Benhaddou with 890,500 chips. In fourth was Raphael Godard with 854,000 and rounding up the top five was Christian Ly with 825,000 chips.

Ly also happened to be the player responsible for busting Zakaria Htati to burst the bubble of the tournament.

Intense Hand for Hand Action; Goutard Busts Zakaria on Bubble

Level 20 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Antoine Goutard
Antoine Goutard

On the final hand before the bubble burst, Sebastien Labaron raised from under the gun and Antoine Goutard moved all in for 70,000, which Labaron called. Players flipped over their cards, with Goutard at risk.

Antoine Goutard: AA
Sebastien Labaron: 97

The board ran out 4AQ8J to give Goutard a set of aces and the double up.

As the hand completed, the tournament director announced that there was another all in and call. The problem, from the perspective of the dozens of journalists and photographers, was that the hand was taking place in a tent a couple of minutes walk away from the main room. Peiced together by the joint efforts of floor staff and media, the hand was as follows...

Christian Ly raised from the button and Htati Zakaria already had his remaining chips in the middle in the big blind. The two players flipped over their cards.

Zakaria Htati: 96
Christian Ly: K6

The board ran out 7JQKA to give Ly a pair of kings on the turn. That was it. Htati was eliminated and the bubble was burst. Cheers and claps sounded out from the main room as players celebrated making it to Day 2 and into the money.
