Belaidouni Spikes River to Bust Baeriswyl

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Kamalle Belaidouni opened to 4,000 from the hijack, and was met with a three-bet to 12,000 from Regis Baeriswyl in the hijack.

Action folded back to Belaidouni, who asked to see Baeriswyl's stack, before four-bet jamming with the covering stack.

Baeriswyl, who had around 33,000 behind, had a final peek at his cards, shrugged his shoulders and made the call.

Regis Baeriswyl: 88 All in
Kamalle Belaidouni: AJ

It was a fair fight, and Baeriswyl remained ahead after the 1073 flop.

The 7 turn paired the board and gave Belaidouni the flush draw, and he hit the 9 river to send Baeriswyl to the rail.

Remaud Loses the Absolute Minimum

Level 10 : Blinds 700/1,400, 1,400 ante

A big pot of 75,000 had developed on a completed board of QJ5Q10, in a hand between Jean-Charles Remaud on the button and Essersi Salah in the small blind.

Salah had put out a bet of 20,000, and Remaud was mulling things over. He spent around two minutes peering at the board and his opponent, then said "I can't pass" and called with 55 for the full house.

Salah tabled QJ for the higher full house, and complimented Remaud effuzely on not going broke.

Dumont Bluff-Catches

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Four players saw a flop of 932, with 10,400 in the middle. Action was checked to preflop raiser Vivien Dumont in middle position, who fired out a bet of 6,000. Only Theo Milion in the small blind called.

The 10 turn was checked to the 4 river, bringing one-card flush possibilities, and Milioni led out with a bet of 11,000.

Dumont took quite a bit of time, checking his cards on at least five occasions, before making the call.

Milioni smiled wryly and turned over 54, for the rivered pair of fours, and it took Dumont a good twenty seconds to realise his 109 for two pair was good.

Albert Fold Dismays Gerbain

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Thibaut Gerbain
Thibaut Gerbain

Thibaut Gerbain opened to 2,300 from the cutoff, and Valentin Albert called on the button.

On the Q109 flop, Gerbain check-called in the face of a bet of 2,100 from Albert.

The same pattern followed on the 9 turn, this time in respect of a bet of 8,000 from Albert.

The 10 river led to a double-paired board, and Gerbain checked once more. Albert slid out a bet of 20,000, and Gerbain check-jammed for around 48,000.

Albert folded quickly enough, flashing the Q, and although it was in French beyond the level of this reporter, it appeared likely Gerbain was lamenting his opponent's decision as he discussed the hand with his opponent, although he did not show.

Gallois Good at Showdown

Level 6 : 300/700, 700 ante
Hadrien Gallois
Hadrien Gallois

Around 8,000 was in the middle on a flop of 765, in a hand between Hadrien Gallois under the gun, David Labrosse in the hijack, and a player on the button.

Gallois checked, and Labrosse slid out a bet of 2,800. The button called before Gallois produced a check-raise to 11,000. Only Labrosse called.

The 5 hit on the turn, and Gallois fired again, this time with a bet of 8,000.

Labrosse called to see the 9 river, which was quickly checked through.

Gallois showed 109 for the rivered two pair, nines and fives, and Labrosse was frustrated to see Gallois had got there versus his A7.

Loic Morand opened to 1,200 from middle position, and was met with a three-bet to 3,600 from Jeremy Abdulah in the cutoff.

Action back to Morand, who called to see a flop of 773.

Morand check-called a bet of 6,000 from Abdulah, and the J hit on the turn.

Action slowed down and was checked to the 5 river.

Morand led out with a bet of 5,000, and confidently tabled 66 when Abdulah called, but Abdulah had AA for the better two pair.

Flush over Flush for Sacquet

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Thomas Sacquet
Thomas Sacquet

Thomas Sacquet opened to 1,000 from the cutoff, and received calls from the button, the small blind, and Arnaud Courreges in the big blind.

On the 875 flop, action was checked to Sacquet, who slid out a bet of 1,500. The button called, before Courreges produced a check-raise to 5,500.

Sacquet called, the button got out of the way, and the 3 fell on the turn.

Courreges continued to fire, sliding out a bet of 10,000, which failed to shake off Sacquet.

The 4 river completed the board, and Courreges put out a bet of 20,000, covering Sacquet's remaining stack of just over 19,000.

Sacquet quickly made the call, and Courreges was dismayed to see he'd been coolered, his 102 for the flopped ten-high flush running into Sacquet's nut flush with A4.

Benisti Bluff Catches; Caillou Hoping for Third Time Lucky

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Florian Caillou
Florian Caillou

Kamel El Bouzidi limped from middle position, before Remi Gazen raised to 1,200 from the button. Sebastien Benisti called in the small blind, as did El Bouzidi.

The QJ9 flop was checked through to the Q turn, where Benisti checked. El Bouzidi slid out a bet of 1,300, and both of his opponents called.

The 9 river completed the board, and Benisti checked once more. El Bouzidi fired out a bet of 3,300, Gazen folded, and Benisti called after some thought.

El Bouzidi looked sheepish and was reluctant to table his cards, eventually showing only the K. Benisti tabled AJ for two pair. queens and jacks, and El Bouzidi mucked.

Florian Caillou is at the table, after bubbling Day 1a and soft-bubbling Day 1b, both with ace-king. If ever a player deserved a min cash, it's him.

Patrick Miangu
Patrick Miangu

Patrick Miangu opened to 600 from the button, and was met with a three-bet to 2,500 from Julien Masse in the big blind.

Miangu made the call to see the A93 flop, where he called a continuation bet of 1,400 from Masse.

The 2 turn and 6 were then knuckled through, and Miangu's A8 for a pair of aces was good versus Masse's 109 for second pair nines.
